Beauty & Fashion Bloggers’ Greenwich Tea Party

It is such an honor to be invited by Lace Llanora (styleandrelax.net) to the great tea party for Beauty & Fashion bloggers! Though I was starting to fill up my Beauty & Fashion section, it is so nice that I’ll be able to grow this section of my blog with activities like this one!

The event started with great great food by Greenwich (I’ll post a separate entry for this one), Greenwich’ manager sharing with us the changes with their services and also new menu items. I really love the food! I wish I was able to finish everything in front of me but after we found out that our event will be televised on QTV for Qtube (airs every thursdays, 10PM), I kinda felt so conscious that I wasn’t able to eat that much hahaha!

We waited for Andi Manzano (host of Qtube) & we started by introducing ourselves 1 by 1. We also took that chance to share our blog and also the reason why we blog about beauty & fashion.

Next, we were asked to share our TOUGHEST fashion experience. I shared my embarassing experience wherein my 4-inches heel broke! hahaha I just shared that when it was broken, I ended up trying to pretend that I still have it. Andi has the power to choose which experience is the toughest and with that, the winner will win Tough Jeans! Earth won! She shared that since her shoe size is really small, it is really such a challenge for her to find shoes and sometimes she has to visit the children’s section just to be able to find one that fits her. Congrats Earth!

The main event for me? The makeover! hahahha why? Because I’m the one that they are going to put make up on! Thanks to Anna Tan (lipstickaddict.blogspot.com) for the great makeup! hahaha it’s just so funny that I’ll be able to show off my new look in a DOTA game with friends hehehe. I’ll also post a separate blog entry for the makeover.

Realization about World of Warcraft

I’ve been playing World of Warcraft since end-November 2008. I was a bit addicted that I subscribed to a recurring 6-month subscription, bought the World of Warcraft Battlechest then Wrath of the Lich King Expansion Pack.

I started playing at “Coilfang” server then moved to “Bonechewer”. With the help of a plurk friend, I was able to reach level 55 as he levelled his new character with mine at the same time and also helped run my character in dungeons & instances using his main.

I was also able to join a famous filipino guild called Shadow Circle. Last night, I attended their eyeball for the 1st time. I felt a lil out of place coz their characters are already level 80s (mine’s only 55) and they’ve known each other for such a long time (way back Ragnarok days). I myself don’t know any of them and being a very shy person, I ended up just listening them talk while I play with my phone & camera.

They are soo passionate about the game that I ended up reflecting myself. Do I see myself being so serious about the game? Am I willing to allot hours every week just to be able to join raids? Do I have the time and energy to learn about the game and be good at it? Am I willing to shed 15 dollars every month? lots of things went through my mind.. I really admire the guild members & officers for being so good at the game yet they also excel at things outside the game WoW.

I think I can still continue to play as long as I take it slow, meaning I’ll just play on my spare time (maybe just twice a week for only a few hours). Play at my own pace, even if I’ll level only once a week. This is so I can appreciate the game more and at the same time, I have enough time for other stuff.

Anyhow, I decided to cancel the recurring subscription to WoW. I can always bring this back, but for now, I have to control myself from being addicted. My subscription ends July 12, 2009. Let’s see.

I still have 3 months to play the game. Will I be able to reach level 80? (I’m afraid that if I will, I won’t be able to control it and be addicted completely.)

new Celine Shoes & Maldita Clothes

Me and my best friend Christina planned to go to a nail spa that day and pamper ourselves but apparently, the spa is closed that day or maybe not (they’re not answering calls). So we ended up shopping at Shang Mall & Mall of Asia.

I’m not really fond of shopping. It’s not my thing. If I’m at the mall, the shops that I want to enter are computer shops, gadget shops (especially shops that sell Apple products), bookstores & hardware stores (believe it or not hehe).

I just shop for clothes & shoes if I need them. And since we’re already doing girly shopping might as well try out and buy something for myself hehehee.

Here are what I bought:

  • Celine White Sandals (Php999)
I bought this at Celine in Shangrila Mall. I rarely buy flat shoes coz I’m not really comfortable with them. And I do have this big frustration about height. So I make sure that I buy shoes that are as high as possible (usually 3-4inches).

This particular design however is soooooooooooo nice that I can’t help myself but break my rule and buy it.

I don’t have any white shoes and I think it’s the safest color as I can wear it with any skirt or dress. It fits what I wore that day, so I ended up wearing it for the rest of the day. I really love it. It’s a good buy for Php999. I’m happy.

  • Maldita Blazer (Php500), Pants (Php450)
I adore Maldita’s clothes a lot. Their design just fits my taste so whenever they are on sale, I make sure that I make a purchase.

Their MOA branch had a big sale last weekend. As in big discounts, 10-70% on a lot of items. There were soooooo many people. When I arrived it’s already 6:45PM and I have to attend a premiere (Slumdog Millionaire) by 7PM. So I lack a lot of time.

So what I did was to get whatever I think is nice and quickly buy it.

Here they are:

A green blazer. Since I’m into yellow clothes right now, I think it’s best that I buy a blazer that would look so cool in them. That’s what I had in mind when I bought it.

I soooo lack pants in my closet. And I especially don’t have much pants that I can wear in the office so I figured since this looked so cute, might as well buy one (as long as it fits me). Good thing it fits

Slumdog Millionaire.. the Philippine Premiere

Yes, I watched this twice already and has already blogged about it (see my post here). But I just can’t get enough, I watched those only at home and with my 32″ TV.

Since I do have a chance to watch it on the big screen (thanks to Viva International Pictures & TV5), why would I miss that opportunity? It’s one of the GREATEST film of all time. I really love it and I’m asking all of you to catch it when it opens in Philippine cinemas on April 11, 2009. You’ll surely miss a lot if you don’t watch it. It isn’t Oscar’s Best Picture for nothing.

At first, I mentioned in my previous blog entry that the movie revolved around Jamal’s joining the “Who wants to be a millionare” game show. Yes, it revolved there but actually, it all boils down to his love for Latika…

He was able to win 20M rupees and was able to answer all the questions because… all questions coincidentally do have relations with his life.. from the time that he was a kid till present.. I also love how the story has been presented in the movie… you won’t notice that the movie is 2 hours long, that’s how good it is..

After watching this the 3rd time, I realized that this movie is really about love… I believe Jamal (lead character) has chosen to live for love and it is his destiny… so touching (I was really trying not to cry coz noone’s really crying watching the movie hehehe)… but deep inside I cried coz I’m so touched with the movie… and the movie ended very well… It is a happy ending!

Comedy Cartel presents… Mad Max Comedy

I used to think that comedy shows are just presented by the so-called “bading” or “homosexuals” hehehe. The ones wherein they make fun of their audience, just for the fun of it. It’s a nice way for the audience to forget all about stress, problems, heartaches, etc.

I just knew now that there is a different kind of comedy and I love it!!! Thanks to my blogger friend, Kel (sioti Kel ) who invited me to watch Mad Max Comedy by Comedy Cartel.

They are a bunch of guys who have different approaches when it comes to sharing jokes. It’s pretty simple actually, it’s like all the jokes that we friends share when we’re hanging around. But for them, it’s like compressed together in 10 minutes (all pure jokes).

Each guy has about 10 minutes per set. Each one also has a different topic that they play around with. Topics like the ff.:

  • School Jokes
  • Chinese Jokes
  • Parenting Jokes
  • Marriage Jokes
  • Teenager Jokes
  • Profession Jokes

My favorite portion from the show are from Mike Unson’s & Stanley Chi’s. Maybe because I can relate to their jokes? hehehe
