David Cook & David Archuleta Live in Manila

david-large

I had the privilege to watch the Davids concert last May 16 (Thanks Az for the ticket). I was able to watch the season where both Davids are competing in American Idol. David Cook was my favorite that time and was rooting for him. I was very happy that he won

The way they are both promoted after the show is pretty impressive, both have their own albums, both have their own fanbase (which is huge IMHO). Having them both perform here in Manila at the same time is super nice!!

The concert was held in Mall of Asia. Pretty big open field great for concerts. The ticket I got was for the bronze section. When we say bronze section, it is at the farthest side (meaning at the back hehe ). We can’t see the stage at all and we just stood there on the grass for about 3-4 hours. I didn’t realize it would hurt that much because i was wearing my usual high heels!!

I feel that it is still worth it even if we are just watching them perform on the screen. See pictures below:

This is David Archuleta on the screen… I hope I can see the stage though but it’s enough for me, hey my ticket’s free! Why should I complain?

And here is David Cook at the background, I have to have a souvenir so I posed in front of the screen

I think there was about 40,000 people who watched the concert. It was truly worth it! Both Davids sang about 3-5 songs.. both are cute, adorable & entertaining. I love their songs! Was able to capture 1 video each for Archuleta & Cook.

Here they are, enjoy!

Angels & Demons Movie Review

angels-and-demons-poster

When I watch movies, I really dont try to analyze it so much. I just sit, relax and watch. I never read the book and I don’t plan to read it in the future.

I would like to thank TV5 for the opportunity to watch this movie at their special screening. I’m sorry that this post is soooooo long overdue. Got problems with my DSL connection at home so didn’t really have the means to go online (will post about this soon).

I’m more impressed with this movie than Da Vinci Code. Unfortunately though, I fell asleep on most parts as I was tired and I watched this movie alone.  I even remember my seatmate asking me if I want to eat chips hahaha

Still, I was able to comprehend what the movie is about and I’m super impressed with Tom Hanks… he was superb in this movie – wayyyyyyy better than how he portrayed his role during the prequel. Ewan McGregor is super impressive here as well. Pretty good casting, love it.

The movie started with vial of antimatter being stolen and someone getting killed in the process. The Vatican sought the help of Robert Langdon (Tom Hanks) to solve this and also the kidnapping of the 4 bishops who are candidates to become the Pope’s successor. Apparently, a secret society called the Illuminati kidnapped the 4 bishops and threaten to kill them 1 by 1 every hour then destroy the vatican after.

So there, Tom’s character was trying to figure out where the bishops might be and save them. There’s a big twist at the end as well, guess who is behind of it all?

Overall, a movie that is worth watching.  I know that most of the theaters dont show this anymore but once the DVD is out and you haven’t watched the movie, go get it

My Rating for Angels & Demons: 3.5 out of 5 stars.

iBlog5: The 5th Philippine Blogging Summit

Malcolm Theater, U.P. College of Law, Diliman, Quezon City
May 9, 2009, 9-5PM

——————–
This is the 1st ever Blogging Summit I attended and I must say that it is truly enlightening for me. I’ve been blogging for quite some time but I’m doing it the wrong way thus my site traffic isn’t as impressive as of the other bloggers. Attending the sessions really enlightened me so much that I had this renewed enthusiasm about blogging… passionate already but is becoming more passionate…

I was a bit pissed off at first because wifi internet connection suck big time and to make matters worse, there were no signals on both my globe and sun cellular phones! Eventually, I think it is a blessing because if I had ways to communicate to the outside world, I wouldn’t have listened much to the talks in the summit and wouldn’t be able to learn anything. So… I’m happy, ecstatic even!

Sharing with you the agenda of the event:

  • 9:00 – 9:15 Registration, National Anthem, Invocation, Welcome Remarks
  • 9:20 – 9:40 Blogging 101 (Micaela Rodriguez & AJ Matela)
  • 9:45 – 10:05 Photo Blogging (Faith Salazar & Fritz Tentativa)
  • 10:10 – 10:25 Break
  • 10:30 – 10:50 Video Blogging (Azrael Coladilla & Kring Elenzano)
  • 10:55 – 11:15 Mobile Blogging 101 (Edwin “Ka Edong” Soriano)
  • 11:20 – 11:40 Do’s & Dont’s of Blogging (Benj Espina & Juned Sonido)
  • 12:10 – 1:00 Lunch Break
  • 1:00 – 1:20 Legal Issues in Blogging (Atty. JJ Disini)
  • 1:30 – 2:15 Preparing Bloggers for 2010 Elections (Atty. James Jimenez), Bloggers Election Handbook Project (Janette Toral)
  • 2:30 – 3:30 Blog Marketing & Advertising Experiences in the Philippines (Mannix Pabalan, Lazzlo Lim, Kristine Mandigma, Jayvee Fernandez & Eric Ramirez)
  • 4:00 – 4:15 Break
  • 4:15 – 4:45 Blogging to the Next Level (Fitz Villafuerte & Anton Diaz)
  • 4:45 Raffle & Group Picture Taking

There were several good speakers… but my favorite presentation is from Fitz Villafuerte… He discussed to us “Top 5 Tips that Probloggers will usually NOT tell you about Making Money Online“. He was very articulate, the presentation is simple enough for everybody to understand…. I will not share with you the top 5 tips coz as the title says, probloggers will usually NOT tell you about it hehehehehe so pardon me if I can’t share the information, besides if you’re a blogger, you should be attending iblog!

Anyhow, this is truly a great learning experience… aside from the whole day long information overload hehehe. I was also able to mingle with the bloggers and also meet some bloggers for the 1st time. It was also nice to see Anton who I used to work with when he was still in P&G. His presentation about the different stages of blogging is a good one! Aha, now I know what my goal is… to be a… MAVEN!

I also realized there are different types of blogging, some just blog photos, some just blog about their day-to-day using only words, while some just blog via videos. I can say that I’m a bit of everything… I blog about my experiences using words, pictures, sometimes videos. Let’s see what my blogging life takes me..

Thanks to the iBlog organizers and also to the sponsors for this event (AyosDito.ph, POC, Smart, Jollibee, Yehey, 611 Connect, Greatwebhost, RealityTV & Alfox).

I won an iblog5 shirt too!

Makeover for Roch at Beauty & Fashion Bloggers Greenwich Tea Party

Wow! A makeover from a fellow blogger! It just makes it so personal
Makeover session was part of the activities we’ve done on the beauty bloggers event last friday.

It started with Andi Manzano interviewing me on what I’m feeling then because I’m going to get a make over. I actually can’t remember what I answered because it was caught on video camera since it’s going to be televised! I felt that my english sucked big time coz I was too conscious! It’s pretty embarassing hehehe. So if ever any of you will watch Qtube on QTV and see this interview, please don’t take my grammar against me hahaaha!

Next is the makeover itself… Look at Anna‘s makeup kit!!

I cannot imagine, that we need to bring soooooo many products just to be able to put make up on 1 person! haahaha I feel so special. Well, my personal beauty regimen is pretty simple (see my post here).

Anna started with the makeover. She put cleanser on me first then toner then eye make up then blush on and lastly, lipstick. I don’t know how to elaborate it more since I’m not really the type who loves to put make up hahaa. I actually don’t know how but would love to learn and I think having a makeover will help. I’d be able to get tips on what kind of products to put on our face & skin.

Here are the list of products Anna used on me:

  • Celeteque Toner for Sensitive Skin

  • Ever Bilena Advance Smooth Eyes in Campagne Bright (Eyesahdow Base)

  • Estee Lauder Eye Pencil (Kohl) in Black – Eyeliner
