Lunch at Mey Lin

I brought food for lunch today but after hearing my officemates planning to eat at Mey Lin. I couldn’t resist it. I joined them and I did not regret it. There’s just too many times that I’ve missed out on great outings like going to the casino before that I ended up just playing the slots online. And not only just outings, but I’ve also missed a lot of great meals, so I promised myself if situations like this arise, then I’m definitely going. And I’m glad I went to Mey Lin for lunch.

Mey Lin has always been one of my favorite restaurants mainly because I love their “Fried Intestines”… yummy yummy yummy!!!! I just can’t resist when it comes to my favorite things. Any mention of seafood, playing World of Warcraft, watching movies, online roulette, online gaming, poker, or the many other things that I love, I just cannot resist!!! And this is why when it comes to Mey Lin, I was already out the door when they mentioned it! hahaha

Here are what we ordered:

Kimchi Noodle Soup (Php 178)

Hot & Sour Noodle Soup (Php 158)

Ansio Beef Noodle Soup (Php 115)

Kenchi Beef Noodle Soup (Php 100)

I love love love everything about this. The soup is tasty. The beef is delicious, everything is delicious!

Air Dried Duck w/ Sausage Rice (Php 198)

This one really looks delicious, I will definitely try this out when I go back to Mey Lin.

Fried Intestine (Php 218)

My all-time favorite… yummy! yummy!

Jelly Fish (Php 128)

Especially good with Calamansi, Soy Sauce & Chili Sauce

We are all served with free hot tea w/c tasted good!

I’ll definitely go back there when I get the chance.

Icebergs

After watching ballet, we went to Icebergs to have desserts.

We ordered the ff.:

Mexican Tacos (Php 75)

This is a combination of ground beef, lettuce, cheese, onions & tomatoes), I love the tacos sold at greenhills better.

Fresh Buco Juice (Php 58)

the juice is served together w/ syrup and ice. I just added them all together.. normal tasting buco juice heehhe

Strawberry Sundae (Php 98)

I really miss the old menu of Icebergs. It used to have sizzling porkchop w/c I loved very much. I don’t why they removed that from their menu.

I was also planning to order their french fries but I realized I was already gaining a lot of weight. hehehehe

Overall, just a normal dessert place. I really missed the old menu and I do seem to like only one menu item w/c is the french fries.

After shopping, me & my friend decided to eat at Joel Torres’ restaurant.

So here it goes:

Paa (Php 85)

This is a combination of Chicken Leg & Thigh cooked Inasal Style. This will taste a lot better if you use the sauce provided.

Calamansi & Sili w/ Datu Puti Soy Sauce & Vinegar… yummy!

Kansi (Php 110)

This one is a bulalo ilonggo style…. this is different, I don’t know how and I don’t know why… this is one good soup to order in JT’s Manukan Grille… try it when you go there.

C2 Green Tea (Php 30)

Parking is a challenge. The place is not your typical dining place. When it rains, don’t go there.. Nothing really special as it taste the same as the other Inasal places. But still, if you’re in Ortigas area and you are craving for Inasal, then this is the place for you.

This is one of my favorite restaurants though I admit their food is very expensive. Whenever I feel bad or if I need any comfort food, this is where I’ll go.

I had lunch yesterday w/ a long-lost friend here. The 1st thing we noticed is that only a few people seems to be eating there…

Here are what we ordered:

Beef Kebab (Php 315)

This is the only reason why I love this restaurant.. their beef kebab is deliiiiiiiiiccccciiiiiooooouusss.. yummy!

Lamb Kebab (Php 380)

This is my 1st time to try the lamb kebab, and since this is more expensive.. I’m kinda expecting that it will taste better than the beef kebab… but I was wrong… I almost threw up coz I didn’t like the taste at all..

Plain Rice w/ Saffron (P168)

This is now a really overpriced rice… but I really like this admittedly… Maybe it’s in the grain or the saffron?

Garlic Sauce (P75)

I asked for this not thinking that we are going to be charged for it.. This is where I really got disappointed… Why the heck should we be charged for a garlic sauce? I mean the kebabs won’t be the complete without it… arrgghhh

I really really love their kebabs but I’m quite hesitant to go back there anymore… The service is excellent but the food is expensive & Garlic sauce should be free… I guess if I’m craving for Persian food, I’ll just go to Arya next time.

We went to Old Chinatown Kopitiam to celebrate Joanne’s & Ronald’s Birthday. It was truly well attended as barkadas on both sides attended the celebration.

There were truly a LOT of food… and here are some of what we ordered:

Maya Maya Soup (Php 558)

This one I love very very much! It tasted soooooo good! I’m not fond of soups w/ fish but this one I can’t resist. You must order this if you plan to order soup in Old ChinaTown Kopitiam.

Mushroom Fried Rice (Php 298)

this is ok… nothing special

Spicy Gong Bao Chicken w/ Cashew (Php 198)

Not my favorite… I didn’t feel it’s spicy enough

Old Chinatown Signature Mee (Php 198)

The birthday celebrants ordered quite a few variants of noodles.. and I can’t seem to distinguish one from the other hehehee

Claypot Beef Kienchi (Php 228)

beef stew.. normal also

Kopi Spareribs (Php 188)

When it comes to spareribs, I always prefer the salt & pepper one. So I didn’t appreciate this much though I must admit this tasted good too

Hokkien Mee (Php 348)

Bah Kut Teh (Php 578)

I really love the soups of this restaurant. This one is advertised as a healthy soup. Meat were cooked with 16 herbs & spices… yummy

Beef Char Kway w/ Bittermelon (Php 378)

Claypot Pork Belly w/ Salted Fish (Php 198)

I was extremely excited to try this dish but unfortunately, I was disappointed. I guess this is because I first tried this dish at Palm Beach (located in Fort)… I thought that it would taste the same.. I guess it’s really incomparable

King Fish w/ Spicy Meat Sauce (Php 248)

I forgot to taste this! hahahaha I was distracted already coz we started taking pictures.

Claypot Chicken Rice (Php 328)

Chilled Almond (Php 48)

It’s more of a dessert than a drink, I always order almond juice if it’s available. In this case, I’d rather drink the service tea provided ehhehe

Overall, I still think that the food is really good. This was already my 2nd time here in the restaurant and I still feel that you can find better tasting food here. A must-try if you’re in Quezon City area.
