Pancake House

Pancake House

Petron Bel-Air Square, Buendia Ave. cor Makati Ave., Makati City, Metro Manila
(02) 899-7730

——————–
I had lunch with a very close friend of mine yesterday. It’s going to be her last day of work the next day, so I asked if we could have lunch.

We went to Pancake House as it is near our offices and the place is much cozier than the fastfood restaurants around Makati/Buendia avenue.

When you enter the restaurant, the 1st thing that you will notice is the posters hanged around the walls of the place. They are movie posters from before to present. I do wonder how they came up with the concept, must be the owner loves watching movies???

One thing I also noticed is the food is getting more expensive each time. The ones we ordered used to be so cheap before but now it’s like 25% more expensive.

Here are what we ordered:

  • Classic Pan Chicken – 2 pcs (Php 145)
securedownload-3

Aside from KFC, Pancake House’s chicken is also good. Surprisingly! I guess it is because when I eat, it’s newly cooked.

  • Sprite (Php 48)
securedownload-2

  • House Specials Set (Php 205)
securedownload-6

This has always been my favorite menu item in this restaurant. The taco is good, the chicken is really good, the garlic bread is good & the spaghetti USED to be good.

I said ‘used to be’ for the spaghetti because when I had this in my plate and I had my first bite, I didn’t dare eat it anymore. I felt the noodle was so tough and it just felt weird that time. Maybe the chef wasn’t in a good mood?

I ended up just eating the chicken, bread & taco.

This menu item is served with an iced tea as well. You can choose to upgrade it to bottomless by adding a certain amount.

If they raise their prices again, I really would think it’s not worth it anymore. But anyhow, still a good place to hang out to.

World Class Persian Kabab

World Class Persian Kabab

G/F Tomas Morato corner E. Rodriguez, Quezon City, Metro Manila

——————–
I was really craving for this yesterday. And glad that I was able to go there to eat. Yummy yummy… just by blogging about it, I’m craving again… have to think of my diet..

Here are what we ordered:

  • Beef Kebab (Php 45)
securedownload-2

This is usually what I order when I go to Persian restaurants. This is the cheapest beef kebab I’ve known so far. Cheap & delicious.

  • Beef Tomato (Php 45)
securedownload-9

This is like “giniling”, nothing really special but still good.

  • Chicken Barbeque (Php 70)
securedownload-6

This one I love… the chicken is tasty, delicious… I put their chili sauce here and it really tasted so good. I’ll order this next time when I go there.

  • Pita Bread (Php 10)
securedownload-8

  • Classic Rice (Php 10)
securedownload-1

Cheap, cheap, cheap & I prefer this to complement the beef kebab.

On the other hand, do you know that if you like butter in your rice, you have to pay extra (Php 15)? And the butter is just like half-a-teaspoon, that I don’t recommend (not worth it).

  • Mango Shake (Php 30)
securedownload-7

  • Lamb Chop with Rice (Php 140)
securedownload-5

I’m not a fond of lamb so I didn’t appreciate it much. I believe though that this is well-cooked and enjoyed by the customers in the restaurant. A lot of people ordered this when we were there.

Would you believe there are just 2 of us who have eaten all of that? And it’s cheap… still less than 500 pesos. Really worth it. You should try it. I prefer this over Behrouz & Mister Kebab restaurants.

——————–
I was really excited when I learned that we will have our team dinner at Cyma.

Cyma is really one of the most popular restaurants in Greenbelt. It’s a Greek Restaurant and seemed to be a place where people would prefer to go to for dinner.

My boss ordered the ff. for all of us (except for the lemonade w/c I ordered hehe):

  • Lemonade (Php 95)
securedownload-1

We can choose either regular or bottomless. I chose bottomless. Very fresh drink & it’s good.

  • Saganaki Flaming Cheese (Php 330)
securedownload-2 securedownload-3

OPA!! The waiters usually shout it when they serve something flaming & this is one of them. We ordered this Traditional Greek Cheese w/c is Kefalograviera cheese. Served with bread, nice way to start the meal.

Another flaming cheese you can choose is mozzarella, parmesan & evoo for Php 200.

  • Pastisado – Greek Osso Bucco (Php 650)

securedownload-5

Don’t have much meat in the crabs but still OK.

  • Giant Shrimp w/ Dill & Ouzo (Php 550)
securedownload-7

served w/ tomato cream sauce & rice-stuffed peppers.

We can actually choose to side it with Greek roasted potatoes rather then the stuffed peppers.

  • Cyma’s Gourmet Hummous (Php 350)
securedownload-8

we can choose either steak, chicken or vegetarian. We chose vegetarian.
This is a unique dish. I like it.

  • Moussaka (Php 250)
securedownload-6

Greek’s national dish. Well it looked & tasted like lasagna heehhee.
description from the menu: layered seasoned ground pork & beef, roasted Japanese eggplant & Greek beechamel sauce.

  • Paidakia (Php 595)
securedownload-13

Char-grilled lamb ribs with Greek roasted potatoes.
Just like the other dish, we can also choose rice-stuffed peppers as the side dish.

  • Lamb Gyro (Php 220)
securedownload-12

marinated lamb w/ tomatoes, red onions, tsatziki & wrapped in pita.

We really are so full when we finished eating.

Just a lil vocabulary: EVOO is extra virgin olive oil hehehe.

I’m not that impressed with the food as I’m not fond of pasta, what I was really impressed on awhile ago was the service. Best service ever. Since I left early, I pretty am sure those waiters got a good amount of tip from us.

——————–
After Abe, we went to Razon’s of Guagua.
Only Halo Halo since Razon’s is best known for it’s delicious Halo Halo.

A combination of banana (saba), macapuno, dayap and leche plan with milk & shaved ice. I still can’t figure out what their secret is but this certainly is delicious.

Halo Halo (Php 73)

securedownload-1

The ambiance might not be that good since the branch that we went to is inside the foodcourt.
The goood halo halo has already compensate that so does it really matter now? hehehe

Abe

Abe

Serendra, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City, Metro Manila
(02) 856-0526

——————–
We think that this is the best place to go to since we are taking our non-filipino colleagues for dinner. I do believe Serendra will be a great place to hang out to. Since Abe is popular for its filipino dishes, this is where I recommend us to go to.

Their tagline is catchy, I always remember that if it’s abe then that’s where “good friends dine.” hhehehehe

It didn’t disappoint

Here are what we ordered:

  • Crispy Shrimp Binondo (Php 195)
securedownload-4

Finger picking little shrimps fried to a crisp in their shell. Take note, you can eat the shell… yummy!

  • Mutton Adobo w/ Popped Garlic (Php 395)
securedownload-9

Lamb adobo… yummy!

  • Binukadkad na Pla Pla (Php 365)
securedownload-6 securedownload-7

a Best seller in Abe. Don’t forget to dip the fish in the provided sauce. I can’t figure out what the sauce is but it’s really good.

  • Gule Magalang (Php 220)
securedownload-10

  • Paco Fern & Tomato Salad (Php 145)
securedownload-3

Ferns w/ Salted egg, tomato & vinaigrette dressing.

I love this as well. It’s served with chicken.

  • Spicy Sisig Pampanga (Php 175)
securedownload-12
Minced pork & chicken livers sauted in garlic. A traditional filipino favorite.

  • Lechon Cubano (Php 420)
securedownload-8

When I see this, I felt like my diet will be really ruined. heheehe I guess, it’s not really everyday that we eat something like this. Let’s reward ourselves sometimes, right?

  • Fresh Fruit Shakes -Watermelon & Ginger, Green Apple, Tamarind Shakes (Php 105 each)
securedownload-5 securedownload-14 securedownload-13

Aside from the food, their drinks are also superb! They’re unique, well thought of menu items.

The food is deliiiiiiicccciiooouuuus As a bonus, rice are unlimited for only Php 45.00.

So far, I think this is the best place we went to eat for the past week. I greatly recommend this restaurant if you’re in Serendra.

Isn’t it obvious on our faces? We are happy with the food!

I do hope they improve their customer service a bit though. Since I’ve asked for their menu or followed up on our food quite a lot of times but seems to be noticed just by one. What I meant was, I have to talk to at least 3 servers before there’s something really I can get.
Owned by LJC group of restaurants (Cafe Adriatico, Cafe Havana, etc).
