——————–

This lunch was arranged because our teammate, Sean, is leaving the company

Aside from the good company, we experienced good food! How I love Lutong Macau’s dishes, the only thing that is setting me back is the price of their food… I do remember though that I used to eat a lot at their branch in Powerplant branch hehe.

Here are what we ordered:

  • Eggplant Taosi (Php 88)
IMG_3601

Unique dimsum… this is just eggplant in taosi sauce. Cooked just right.

  • Chicken Feet (Php 88)
IMG_3600

  • Beancurd Roll (Php 88)
IMG_3602

I love this… I actually don’t understand how this is made but anyhow, this is delicious.. I’ll order this again when I go back.

  • Lemonade (Php 70)
IMG_3613

This is the BEST lemonade ever!!!!!!!!! I don’t know any other restaurant here in Manila that serve it sooooooooooooooo delicious like Lutong Macau do. You will really miss a lot if you don’t try this.

  • Special Fried Rice (Php 600)
IMG_3606

  • Steamed Fish w/ Taosi (Php 650)
IMG_3614

I noticed that we ordered a lot of dishes in Taosi sauce hahahaha.

  • Beef w/ Broccoli (Php 650)
IMG_3607

  • Lemon Chicken (Php 650)
IMG_3608

This is kinda weird but I’m pleasantly surprised! Don’t know about my colleagues though. I’m a lover of chicken skins and this dish felt like it is just pure chicken skins… Though I don’t think it is…. maybe they are just sliced so thin and fried till they are crisp and crunchy. I love love love love love love love this!

Overall, I still think I’ll keep coming back here because I love the food!! uhhh.. I’m hungry!!!

I was able to try out different menu items available in Greenwich during the Beauty & Fashion Bloggers’ Tea Party last friday. I really thought that their pizza is just normal and the other pizza parlors are much better but after I tried it last friday, I’m totally a Greenwich fan now. I love their new pizza! Their lasagna is superb! ambiance is wayyyyyy better than before. Kudos to Greenwich for the reinvention! Love it!

Here are the menu items that were served to us:

  • Pizzas! Pizzas! Pizzas!

As what my follow bloggers said, this is the best lasagna ever! I’m not really fond of lasagna but if it’s Greenwich I’ll definitely dig in

  • Chocolate Fudge (Php 49)
IMG_3676

With all the food that was served to us, you wouldn’t even imagine that you’re in a fastfood restaurant. I’m totally sold, I’ll definitely eat more often in Greenwich from now on.

Breakfast at Granvia Café

Granvia Café

The A.Venue Hotel Suites, Antel Lifestyle City, 7829 Makati Avenue, Makati City
(02) 403 0865, (02) 403 0888

——————–
If you stay at A. Venue Hotel Suites, you’ll have free breakfast buffet for 2 at Granvia Cafe. Breakfast is served daily 7-10AM.

Take note that there is a STRICT dress code, no sandos, slippers, shorts and even spaghetti straps for ladies. I do understand the sandos, slippers but I totally don’t understand why spaghetti straps are not allowed to be worn inside. I went there wearing my spaghetti strap dress and I was approached by the server and informed me that it is not allowed. I kinda appreciated though that they did not let me go up and change, they just told me that next time it is not allowed.

Here are some of the menu items included in the buffet:

  • Cereals & Milk
  • Cold Cuts
  • Sardines
  • Yogurt
  • Fresh Fruits
  • Atchara
  • Bread Section with Butter, Strawberry Jam, Blueberry Jam & Mango Jam
  • Boneless Smoked Bangus
  • Roasted Chicken
  • Hash Browns
  • Pork Beans
  • Egg Fried Rice
  • Steamed Rice
  • Grilled tomatoes
  • Bacon
  • French Toast
  • Chicken Noodle Soup

IMG_3497IMG_3498IMG_3501IMG_3502IMG_3503IMG_3504IMG_3505IMG_3506

Guess what menu item is my favorite? It’s bacon!!! I put a lot of bacon in my place, seemed like I really didn’t care about my health hahahaa. But It’s just rare that I see sooo many bacon that I can’t resist it.

I’m still a rice person and I would have loved this if they served longganisa, hotdog, corned beef, tapa, danggit… more like filipino breakfast… Their breakfast menu is more for people who loves american/intercontinental breakfast and I’m not that type of person.

You also have an option to choose between coffee and tea. I have chosen coffee but after 10 minutes, it became cold! The temperature in the cafe is just too cold hahaha. I think they just need to change the temperature a lil. I guess it’s their way of forcing their guests to wear more appropriate clothes (remember sandos, slippers, shorts & spag straps are not allowed?) hehee.

Before I forget, you can request for them to cook omelette for you. This is my favorite, freshly cooked. You can choose between a vegetarian omelette, ham & cheese omelette, mushroom omelette or everything inside the egg.

Palamis Resto Grill

Palamis Resto Grill

Sadsaran, Poblacion, Alami City, Pangasinan

——————–
Our travel package at Pangasinan doesn’t include dinner.. so we usually eat out by then.

We had our last dinner at Pangasinan at Palamis Resto Grill. It’s like a place for drinking.. coz there’s a karaoke machine, lots of alcohol and food are mostly “pulutan” or food that you eat along with drinking.

I didn’t appreciate the food but I’m sure my colleagues did coz there was no leftover

Here are what we ordered:

  • Sinigang na Hipon (Php100)
3440788976_0fd27e7a3e

This like a homecooked sinigang. Lots of sabaw with vegetables and shrimps.

  • Pigar-pigar (Php100)
3439969861_97f1c2e4e8

I have to ask what this is because of the name… I don’t know what pigar is… but according to them, this is just beef fried. Nothing special, good pulutan.

  • Fried Chicken 1/2 (Php130)
3437944940_f75d32e03d

  • Spicy Chicken Wings (Php130)
3439983625_b0c1289993

this is indeed very spicy. I think it’s just the same chicken but with spicy sauce.

  • Fish Fillet (Php80)
3439966837_6fb0a1d2f1

  • Chopsuey with Quail Eggs (Php80)
3440786456_65a6bcc502

  • Plain Rice (Php10)
3440791424_9b8f987137

  • Sizzling Sisig (Php100)
3440794158_5003d47d56

Not the type of sisig I want because it’s not well done. From the looks and taste of it, seems like the traditional Filipino sisig.

Overall, I think I wouldn’t choose this restaurant for a full meal. But I think this is a good place to hangout if you like drinking at the same time singing.

For the Karaoke, we are asked to pay Php5 per song. Pretty cheap but since we’re a party of 12, the guests from other tables was just waiting for us to finish. So we decided to go back to the hotel early and just continue chatting/drinking there.

We didn’t discover any good places to eat in Pangasinan coz we ate mostly fastfood (Jollibee, McDo, Chowking). So this is the only restaurant that is locally Pangasinan.

Lunch at The Tea Republic

The Tea Republic
G/F, Pacific Star Building, Makati Ave., Makati City, Metro Manila

(02) 848-0270

——————–
When my mom was still living here in the Philippines, this is her favorite hangout place in Makati. We always eat lunch & breakfast there.

When I go to this place, I remember how my mom loves this place. And this week, I was really craving for it so I invited Maus to have lunch with me there.

We ordered the ff.:

  • Prawn Thermidor (Php 255)

IMG_2193

When I hear or see Prawn Thermidor, I always remember the cooking class I attended years back. I guess it’s because it’s the only dish that I was able to cook before. But right now, I honestly don’t remember the recipe and I can’t replicate what I’ve done before. Anyway, I ordered this dish just because I want to remember how it tasted like.

this is prawns with cream based sauce of mustard, peppers & mushrooms. The prawn shells are also scattered all over the plate for decoration. The taste is just normal, if you’re extremely hungry, I wouldn’t recommend this dish. but ofcourse, if you’re hungry but not too much, then this is a must try..

  • Grilled Schublig with Onion Sauce (Php 250)

IMG_3551

Simply grilled sausage with onion sauce. Can be served either with rice or pasta. I’ve chosen rice because I’m not fond of pasta. I love love love love sausage, it’s very good. Reminds me of the restaurant Schwatzwalder, their sausage platter is extremely delicious. Juicy and super yummy.

  • Pasta Valenciana (Php 250)

IMG_3548

According to their menu, it’s their pasta version of paella. We used to know Paella as seafood with yellow rice. With this, it’s spaghetti noodles with garlic, chicken, chorizo, bilbao, shrimp & squid cooked in virgin olive oil (you can also choose to have it cooked in chunky provencal sauce). According to Maus, it’s a lil dry and not really that delicious.

  • Thai Iced Tea (Personal – Php 60, Grande – Php 85)

IMG_3547

I love Thai Iced Tea but Tea Republic’s version of the famous Thai Iced tea is blah for me. I didn’t like the taste, the coconut/almond/tea combination doesn’t really click well together. I was only able to drink a lil then I just can’t let myself drink it anymore, it was like torture. hayy.

I think the waiter know that it didn’t taste good coz he warned me that it has coconut powder. But I guess, I was curious how it tasted and I was a lil disappointed. huhuhuhuhuhu I wish I ordered Personal size

  • Black Lychee Fruit Pandan (Personal – Php 60, Grande – Php 85)

IMG_3544

This one was ordered by Maus, I tasted it and I loved it! I wish ordered this one!!! The taste is just like the pandan juice in Oody’s.
