San Marino Tuna Paella

San Marino Tuna Paella

It’s amazing just how innovative companies are.  San Marino in particular was able to create a Tuna Paella in a can!  As in wow!  In most instances, we can usually only have paella when at a restaurant, and in a group since the serving for paella is usually pretty large.  However, it is now possible to eat a considerable amount of paella at a low price.  And there’s more, it’s tuna!

Another good thing they’ve done is to make the can an easy-open one.  Now, we don’t have to bring a can opener to open it.  So this product really is portable.  Meaning we can bring it anywhere we go, not worrying much how to open or how to cook.  We just open it and we already have paella which includes both tuna and rice.  Perfect!

San Marino Tuna Paella is basically a Spanish-inspired dish that consists of Spanish rice, tuna, green peas & carrots.  According to advertisements, there are no preservatives added in the product.  This is definitely a good product to consider, San Marino Tuna Paella as a healthy product with high content of Omega 3 DHA which is good for the heart.

Their sweet commercial starring Marian Rivera & Dingdong Dantes just made me wanna try it out even more hahaha!  I guess romance is the theme as they are combining 2 different ingredients into one (Spanish rice & tuna).

I tried out the product myself yesterday.  Opened a can for breakfast and it tasted good!  I loved it!  It’s basically sticky rice with lots and lots of tuna and some green peas & carrots.  Good for 1 serving.  I’ve never eaten a tuna paella so this was obviously something new.  I would prefer to eat this as a morning or afternoon snack.  I may even like this more than their corned tuna product as I don’t need to cook rice or bring bread in order to eat it.  It’s an all-in-one product and I’m glad.  Life is getting easier as time passes by.

Mogu Mogu Fruit Juice Drink

Mogu Mogu

Some of you may know that I’ve been tweeting a lot about the different drinks that I’m quitting.  Purpose is mainly to have a healthier life.  I stopped drinking softdrinks & coffee.   My search for an alternative drink continues & I’m glad I came across a new drink craze, Mogu Mogu Fruit Juice Drink!

Made by Sapanan General Food, one of the leading food exporters of Thailand, Mogu Mogu is definitely popular in Thailand.  It has also swept Europe & Southeast Asia.  The good news is that it has finally arrived in the Philippines.

Mogu-Mogu is a Nata de Coco juice drink.  It’s fruit juice blended w/ Nata de Coco.  When we say fruit juice, it’s real fruit juice, and thus it contains vitamins naturally found in those fruits.  Nata de Coco, on the other hand, is a coconut jelly that is high in dietary fiber but no cholesterol and definitely zero fat.  In short, it’s a healthy drink!  Just the thing that we are looking for these days.

Mogu-Mogu comes with 6 different flavors:

  • Lychee
  • Grape
  • Strawberry
  • Mango
  • Pineapple
  • Orange

I tried all of the flavors, but I must say my favorite is the Grape flavor 🙂  As I tried to take a sip, there’s nata de coco and chewing while drinking fresh real fruit juice is soo cool!  That’s probably why those pearl drinks are popular right?  It really felt good drinking this as it’s not only yummy but it’s also soo healthy.  I don’t have to be guilty about anything.  Before I forget, you should definitely drink this cold.

Mogu Mogy Gotta Chew

Mogu Mogu Fruit Juice w/ Nata de Coco can be bought in gyms, schools, mini stop branches, 7-11 branches & major supermarkets.

You know how I am, no matter if it’s food, a product or whatever, I always make it a point to take pictures.  If you wanna see more of Mogu Mogu, then go to my Flickr.

A healthy alternative to soda and fun to drink too!  I have found something to add to my must-have drink list and it’s Mogu Mogu fruit juice!

東吳大飯店 Dong Wu Hotel Taipei
258, Section 2, Yan-Ping North Road, 103 Taipei, Taiwan

——————–
Dong Wu Hotel Taipei is located at the heart of Taipei that is a small and elegant hotel.  I enjoyed our stay there as it was clean, neat, quiet and has free wifi!!

We stayed there from September 18 to 21 and of course, free breakfast is included in our room rate.  Every morning, we made it a point to go down to the basement to eat the buffet breakfast.

Non-hotel guests can also eat breakfast for 198NT.

It is an eat-all-you-can buffet that serves the usual breakfast items that we see in Taiwan.  It’s just ordinary, nothing special but still, it makes our stomach full so we can be well and ready for our long day ahead 🙂

By the way, my favorite is their congee. This one I really, really love! Don’t forget to put the condiments in the congee especially the bread. It makes a lot of difference on the taste.

Before I forget to mention, the ambiance was really nice.  They had bookshelves full of books, magazines and newspapers for us to read.  They also have LCD television on display and cozy chairs for those who will be staying long, tinkering with their laptops.

Roch’s Ultimate Comfort Food

Whenever I feel sad, tired, stressed, frustrated or overly hungry, I crave for my favorite food.  What is my ULTIMATE comfort food? It is KFC Hot & Crispy Thigh Part Chicken!!!

I don’t know why I love it so much. I guess it is finger lickin’ good, tasty, fresh and juicy just as advertised! I only love the thigh part but since we don’t have the liberty to choose which parts we want to order, I need to choose the wing part.

This is what I usually order: Box of 6 Hot and Crispy Chicken (Php 353).  That’s 3 pieces thigh part & 3 pieces wing part.  I really would have chosen to have all 6 thigh parts!  KFC you need to allow this!!!

Most of the time, they usually run out of thigh parts.  This is why I need to order another dish as I have to wait for 20 minutes before the next batch of chicken gets cooked.

I usually order their WoW steak meal which is worth Php58.  It is chicken fillet with gravy sauce served with rice & regular drink.  Yummy also, a very good appetizer while I wait for the main meal 🙂

This is not the first time I have blogged about KFC.  See my other post here.  Anywhere in the world I go, I make it a point to visit KFC.  That’s how much I love their chicken!  Nothing compares!  Nothing!

Seattle’s Best Coffee

Seattle’s Best Coffee
R2 Level, Power Plant Mall, Rockwell Drive cor. Estrella St., Makati, Philippines

——————–
Earlier today, I met up with 2 of my closest female friends.  We meet up every now and then, usually 2-3 times a year.  We either meet up for coffee, dinner or lunch.  Since Shar is already married & Stef is busy with her work & social life, we just catch up and have our very girl talk on rare meetup occasions.

This time around, we decided to go to Powerplant.  It has been such a long time since I last visited Powerplant mall.  It has really changed a lot.  One place that really caught my eye was Seattle’s Best Coffee.

I especially love the look of the Seattle’s Best!  The lighting on the ceiling are just super cool & unique.  It just made Seattle’s Best coffee a great place to hang out in & be comfortable in.  We were supposed to meet at a different coffee place but I asked if we could just move it in Seattle’s Best Coffee hehehe 😛

Our girl bonding pictures can be found here.  I hope we see each other soon again.  Let’s see if we can make this a regular thing instead of just when we’re free.

Here are what we ordered:

  • Classic Javanilla Shake (Php 155)

I remember a friend mentioned that this was the best drink he ever tasted hahaha.  I have yet to order this drink.  I will definitely do next time.  Earlier, I ordered White Chocolate Mocha, so I’ll just sample Javanilla on my next visit to Seattle’s Best Coffee.

  • White Chocolate Mocha (Php 135)

This has always been my favorite drink at Seattle’s Best.  I just cannot get enough of it.  I can’t seem to make myself try the other drink that the coffee shop offers.  I just love the way this was made and ofcourse, White Chocolate has always been my favorite! 😀

  • Macaroons (Php 45)

Looks yummy but I wasn’t hungry so I didn’t order.  My friend Shar ordered this. 🙂

  • Butterscotch Bar (Php 60)

  • Java Chip Javakula (Php 145)

Aside from the awesome coffee, Seattle’s Best Coffee also offer Planners for year 2010.  I actually like this better than the ones being offered by Starbucks.  My reason is that this doesn’t have the dates written all over the book.  Seattle’s Best version is more of a notebook.  So just in case, we aren’t able to use it, you can still use it the year after.  Like Starbucks, you need stamps.  This one you just need to have 20 stamps.
