Iron Man Movie Review

Iron-Man-Part-1
I borrowed the DVD of Iron Man , it was sad that I wasn’t able to catch this on the big screen. After watching it today, I realized that I really missed on it, big time, wishing i did catch it before huhuhuhuhuhu :'(
Robert Downey Jr. stars as Iron Man, a BIG BIG welcome back movie for him! He’s super hot in the movie and looked so macho and strong hehehhe 😛 The role fits him very well. I also loved Terence Howard’s character & Jeff Bridges was soooo good as a villain (I didn’t actually recognize him until the end credits).
Iron Man is Tony Stark, CEO at Stark Industries, a company that builds & supplies weapons. When Tony flies to Afghanistan to present the new weapon Stark Industries made, he was kidnapped by the group, Ten Rings. The group wanted Tony to build a missile for them.
Instead of building the missile, he used 3 months of his captivity building a powered exoskeleton and became a technologically advanced superhero. Eventually, Tony found out that it was Obadiah (Jeff’s character) who ordered for Ten Rings to click Tony.
The story revolved there.. with Obadiah building his own suit as well based on Tony’s design and 2 men in iron suits fighting towards the end.. guess who won? 🙂
I can’t wait for the sequel of Iron Man. Heard it’s going to be shown on May 2010 with Robert Downey Jr. & Gwyneth Paltrow reprising their characters.

My Rating for Iron Man: 4.5 out of 5 stars.

Ultra 7 Cinema at Eastwood Mall

During the weekend when Harry Potter & the Half Blood Prince was showing, we failed to get seats in Ultra 7 Cinema so we have to wait for Monday in order to watch it there.
I was really soo excited to try out this cinema as it is the 1st cinema that has twin-recliner seats! So cool!!! As we approach the entrance, we can already see how beautifully designed it is. The lounge has this futuristic design with green neon lights. Patrons can relax there while waiting for the movie to start. It also has chargers available for your phone.

Ultra 7 can carry around 60 people. The seats are so comfortable that you want to lean back as far as you can and put your feet up and enjoy the movie. Unlimited popcorn (cheese, BBQ, plain), bottled water & canned sodas are available during the duration of the movie. If you want more, you just need to raise your hand and someone would assist you.

The washroom is also impressive. It’s very well-maintained, clean, complete with amenities, well-lighted. I had to go there at the middle of the movie coz I ended up eating 2 buckets of popcorn & 2 canned sodas hehehehe 😛

Overall a very nice experience. It’s just sad that they removed the Php350 promo. Now each ticket is sold at Php400. I’ll definitely go back once another long movie comes out. 🙂

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

I watched Harry Potter & the Half-Blood Prince twice. Once in Powerplant and the 2nd one in Ultra 7 Cinema. The 1st time that I watched it, I ended up sleeping 15mins into the movie & I only woke up like after an hour and a half. We ended up going home early coz I can’t seem to control my sleepiness hehehe 😛
Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE Harry Potter movies. I don’t understand as well why I fell asleep when I first watched it considering that I’ve been waiting for the movie for the longest time. When we watched it again, I made sure that I won’t be sleepy, good thing I didn’t though I fell asleep like twice for 5 seconds hahaha!
Anyway, I heard from the people who watched it in IMAX, only the 1st 15 minutes of the movie is in 3D. The movie started with Death Eaters attacking the muggle & wizardry world w/c is made perfectly. Though the next scenes, I believe are just dragging & boring. I was a bit disappointed on how the movie was done considering that Book 6 is one of the best from the Harry Potter Series (Book 7 being the other one). I felt it didn’t do the book justice and the movie concentrated on the love triangle between Ron, Hermione & Lavender as well as Harry, Ginny & Dean.
The major takeaway from this is that Dumbledore is…. dead & Snape is… the half-blood prince.
My rating for this movie is 2 out of 5 stars but if I’m going to rate the book, I will rate it 5 out of 5.

Orphan Movie Review

20090725-bp68nk1he7hfkaynhspdcmjwah
Last night, Warner Bros. Pictures invited some bloggers to watch the press screening of Orphan. Thanks to Warner Bros. Pictures for this opportunity, Orphan is definitely one of the BEST suspense movies I’ve ever seen.

The movie is about a couple (Kate & John) who was devastated for the loss of their unborn child. To regain normalcy in their lives, they decided to adopt another child.

As soon as they welcome Esther into their lives, an alarming series of events begins to unfold, leading Kate to believe that there’s something wrong with Esther – this seemingly angelic little girl who is not what she appears to be.

Concerned for the safety of her family, Kate tries to get John & others to see past Esther’s sweet facade. But her warning went unheeded until it seem to be too late.
As we watch the movie, I came to a point that I thought that the movie is sick. It’s a bit disturbing to watch a child kill people (brutally!!). But as the story became clearer, I understood why and realized that what a great movie this is! Totally unpredictable, unique & well-made.
The actors are just perfect for their roles. I believe their acting in the movie is oscar-worthy. *clap clap*

My rating for this movie is 5 stars (4.5/5). I totally recommend this movie though this is not fit for kids.
Let me end this post by sharing the trailer for the movie:

How to Create a Read More Link to Your Blog Posts in Blogger

I’ve always wondered how I can organize my posts better in my blog as blogger doesn’t have the “read more” feature.

Picture 2

Luckily, there is a solution & lots of tutorials that can be found on the net. I stumbled upon eBlogTemplates.com & followed the steps there.

Here are what I did to make it work:

  1. Go to your Blogger Dashboard & Click Layout then edit HTML.
    Picture 1
  2. Tick the “Expand Widget Templates”
    Picture 4
  3. Type Ctrl-F and find this code Picture 5
  4. Insert this before the code
    Picture 1

  5. & insert this after the code

    It will look like this:

  6. Save your template 🙂 You’re done with the script.
  7. Still at your blogger dashboard. Click Settings then Formatting
    Picture 4
  8. Scroll down & add the code as shown in the “Post Template”

    Picture 5

  9. To see how it works, let’s create a new blog post. Once you complete composing your post, click edit HTML. Put the Picture 6 below your teaser text (the ones you want your readers to see on your front page) and ofcourse put the closing tag Picture 7after your whole post.

This worked for me. But one thing to note is for the blog posts that are already existing in your blog, you will need to add the span tags one by one to edit them as well.
