Nike+ Human Race 10k

1256__320x240_humanrace_logo

I never imagined that I’ll be able to complete/finish a race like this one.

I’m not really an athletic person and I never really jogged.

I tried early this year to jog/run but all I did was to walk around UP oval. I tried to jog but can’t seem to sustain it.

I was very ambitious when I joined this 10k race, thinking that I can just walk all through out and not care about my pride or what others might say. I came there prepared to be the last person to finish the race.

When we started the race though, I already thought of quitting. FORTUNATELY, I have 4 angels with me namely Kristy, Drew, Tim & Gian.

They have chosen to stay with me and push me to jog/run/walk and not stop so we can all together finish the race.

They really could have finished the race in 1 hour but they cheered all the way and decided to stay with me and run/walk/jog all the way to the finish line in 2 hours. There was even a point where they are already pulling me along the road hahahahaa!

I could not have completed the race without them… so thank you guys if you’re reading this!

It is truly an achievement and I’m so happy and so inspired to run (really!!!).

Starting this week, every sunday I’ll jog/walk until I learn how to do it properly. Once I’m ready, I’ll join another race. This time around, I won’t slow any people down. Promise!

The Nike Plus Human Race is a worldwide event and I’m so happy that I’m part of it. I made history!

As expected I’m just ranked as #290 out of 300 runners, #88 out of 92 female runners. hahaha What’s important is we completed the race and I’m happy & proud!

And as a bonus, I got these freebies

Dinner at Teriyaki Boy Banawe

Teriyaki Boy
780-A Banawe Street, Quezon City, Metro Manila Philippines
(02)414-2142

——————–
I had dinner with sisters Cathy & Cecile to celebrate Cathy’s birthday. It has been a loong time since I last saw them, I haven’t been able to join the bible study meetings. The meetings are usually scheduled thursdays and I usually ended up getting so tired at work that I didn’t get to attend it for a loong time hehehe. We were able to catch up with each other’s lives. I will not share details here hehehe 😛

Anyway, this blog is about Teriyaki Boy (in Banawe that is). So here goes..

We had a hearty dinner.. Ordered a lot of items in the menu.

  • California Maki (Php 125)

Sorry I forgot to take a picture we were so hungry ahahah when I realized it, we already ate 2 pieces ehehehe. Nothing really special about this item, taste the same as the other restaurants.
  • Teriyaki Chicken

This is one of the best selling items of Teriyaki Boy. I love the taste and how they cooked it. The sauce is really unique and yummy! 🙂 A must-have when you dine there.

  • Ebi Tempura (Php 250)

Another normal order heeheh. We are just programmed to order tempura whenever we are at a japanese restaurant. Since Teriyaki Boy is a japanese restaurant, ofcourse we have to order this one. 😛

  • Tofu Steak (Php 130)

This one I really love… The tofu is soft delicious and complements perfectly with the other ingredients. I’m not even sure if it’s ground meat but it taste sooo good! and it’s cheap too!

  • Asupara Bacon Maki (Php 150)

This is my ever ever favourite Teriyaki Boy Menu Item. I crave for this whenever I go to this restaurant. Though last night, I really didn’t like the taste. The Bacon was dry but the asparagus is ok.

And they have their own Bottled water (Php 35) now
Overall, still a good place to dine 🙂 Honestly though, the popularity died down already and I don’t see myself eating here often… once in a while I will, but not regularly eheheh 🙂

Dinner at The Sizzlin’ Pepper Steak

The Sizzlin’ Pepper Steak
Level M1 Trinoma Mall, Edsa corner North Ave., Quezon City, Metro Manila Philippines
(02) 916-7040

——————–
I had dinner with Anna & Mariel at the Sizzlin’ Pepper Steak located at Trinoma Mall.
This is kinda similar with Pepper Lunch (@Rockwell).

I really thought that they are 2 similar restaurants with different names. I was kinda surprised to find out that Sizzlin’ Pepper Steak is a LOT cheaper!

The concept is a little similar. They will serve your food in a sizzling plate and you will need to cook your food ASAP by flipping the beef/pork/seafood just to make sure both sides are cooked.

The taste is good and the price is pricey. I somewhat feel that the taste is just normal, it’s like an upgraded version of Mongolian.

Here are our orders:

  • Pork Pepper Rice (Php 155.00)
  • Beef Pepper Rice (Php 185.00)
  • Tiramisu (Php 175.oo) – Well all I can say that this restaurant is not a dessert place. You might just get your desserts on other establishment. The cake slice was actually kept in the freezer, so the cake was not soft as we usually expect Tiramisu to be.

And before I forget, when you see your order coming. Be sure to remove your stuffs from the table as it will really get oily!!! 😛

Steak MD

Steak MD

Banawe, Quezon City, Metro Manila, Philippines
——————–
It has been an extremely stressful day at work… so recently, I’ve been eating out… just to be able to get some comfort food.

Today, me and my carpool mate Anna ate at Steak MD Banawe Branch.

Obviously, the specialty is steak ehehehe

This restaurant has a distinct style. When you want to order for a steak, you will need to follow the steps:

  • Choose your Steak (T-Bone or Porter House)

  • Choose your Size (Regular Cut or Steak for the Big Boys)
  • Choose your Sauce (Rub ko to, Heart Rub, Atomic Rub, Build Me Up Butter Rub or Ang Charub)

  • Choose how you wanted the Steak to be cooked (Rare, Mid-Rare, Mid-Well or Well-Done.

I ordered the Regular Cut Porter House with Garlic Sauce (Heart Rub) – Php225 which I think is very expensive. We are served w/ free soup. And they are also very generous with Gravy (they gave me extra sauce). Apart from that, the taste is just normal nothing really special.

Anna ordered the BBQ Chicken (Php 105) & Mashed Potato (Php 35). I wasn’t able to taste it so I don’t know if this one is good. According to Anna, it’s also just normal.

I don’t think I’ll be going back for awhile since they already raised prices (used to be just about Php 150). The price is really not that worth it now.

Hancock Movie Review

Aside from shopping, I also watched a movie today. The only thing that didn’t go as planned is the TV stand (I didn’t get to buy it).  The movie we watched is Hancock.

hancock-posterbig-trl

Since Dark Knight got so much hype, I didn’t notice the movie Hancock. But since I wanted to treat my yaya to a movie, then I now have a chance to watch Hancock.

I was pleasantly surprised to know that Charlize is part of the movie. It’s just sad that she and Jason Bateman didn’t get enough credit on the movie.

Anyway, I love this movie. There are quite a few scenes where I shed some tears. One scene that I can remember that I cried is when Hancock finally got the people’s gratitude. I really don’t know I just realized that I can relate to Hancock, maybe I really do feel lonely for the past 5 years of my life. And I feel that I’m always misunderstood and unappreciated just like Hancock. hehehe well enough about me.
Back to my review of this movie hehehe.

I really love how they showed Ray character as the one understanding Hancock and changed his image to the people. I really just hope there are people like Ray’s character in real life. Coz I think there’s none like that anymore.

There are several values that were shown here:

  • humility – I love Ray’s character. Such a selfless, good hearted person. I love how he taught hancock and helped change his bad public image.
  • generosity – This is Hancock. he’s technically a superhero. And doesn’t want anything in return.
  • love – Both Hancock & Mary sacrificed themselves for love. Mary walked away from Hancock to save his life 80 years ago. While Hancock walked away as well and went to new york city for Mary to be able to recover from the gun shot.
  • gratitude – Ray & Hancock. Since Hancock saved Ray from the train, Ray showed his gratitude by helping Hancock change his image to a good one, he also saved Hancock from getting killed by Red. Hancock on the other hand, showed his gratitude by painting the moon with the all heart logo (sweet!)

I give this movie 4.5 out of 5 stars. 🙂
