Recipe: Sweet and Sour Meatballs

Sweet and Sour Meatballs Recipe

I enjoyed cooking the meatballs that I couldn’t stop myself from finding new ways in preparing it.  So far, I’ve done it as is – baked meatballs dipped in sweet chill sauce.  I’ve also prepared meatball sotanghon soup.  Now, I tried my hand on sweet and sour meatballs!

After I’ve tasted the finished product, I think this is going to be my favourite meatball preparation.  Have you tried sweet and sour meatballs?  If not, I highly suggest you do!

Thankfully, Panlasang Pinoy’s recipe was spot on!  I was so proud of myself for being able to recreate the sweet and sour sauce from scratch, hehe 🙂

The sweet and sour meatballs is perfect to eat with steamed rice.  I’m happy to say this is one of my successful creations.  Believe it or not, I have more failures in the kitchen than successful ones. haha!

Recipe: Sotanghon Soup

Sotanghon Soup Recipe

I had some margarine that was going to expire soon.  Due to my goal of not wasting any food at home, I was desperate to find a recipe which I can use the leftover margarine with.  It had to have exact measurement of 1/4 cup.  Luckily, at the time, Magnolia website was still up and had the Sotanghon soup recipe posted.

The sotanghon soup recipe was perfectly the thing that I was looking for.  I immediately went to a nearby grocery and bought the missing ingredients.  Then I went straight to cooking.  I have some certain fondness in soups nowadays.  It must be because ramen is so popular.  So even with the very hot weather in the country, I still went ahead with preparing this yummy looking sotanghon soup with meatballs.  I think people call this almondigas but I’m not sure if it’s the same thing. Meatballs Recipe

I’m trying to be more bold in cooking.  So this time, I tried my hand on preparing meatballs!  Apparently, it wasn’t hard at all!

I got some ground beef from S&R (free 0.5 kg for every 1 kg).  There are also a lot of meatballs recipe around so I’m going to try them out.  For now, I have to prepare the meatballs first so that I can use it for the other dishes! Read More

Recipe: Sago

Sago Recipe

There are so many things we can do with sago.  One of the many dishes that I liked which uses sago as an ingredient is mango sago.  One day, I will learn how to make that.  Sago’t gulaman, green bean soup, and red bean soup are other dishes that I wish to recreate too!

When I saw the sago that I bought from the supermarket, I was clueless on what to do.  I didn’t know how to cook it!  This may sound silly but I’m really just a total newbie in the kitchen.  I had to research to understand how to prepare sago. Read More

Recipe: Fruit Pops

Fruit Pops Recipe

I’m getting tired of fruit salad.  It has been the usual dish that people prepare every holiday season.  Since I got myself another fruit cocktail from the company’s Christmas basket, I made it a point to find a recipe for it.

Good thing Del Monte has a very simple recipe that uses the fruit cocktail, this time, as fruit pops!  Since I have some ice drop molds in the kitchen, I didn’t think twice in preparing it.  The recipe is pretty easy.  All we need is just to combine all the ingredients, put the mixture into the molds, freeze the pops overnight, and serve.
