Recipe: Sotanghon Soup

Sotanghon Soup Recipe

I had some margarine that was going to expire soon.  Due to my goal of not wasting any food at home, I was desperate to find a recipe which I can use the leftover margarine with.  It had to have exact measurement of 1/4 cup.  Luckily, at the time, Magnolia website was still up and had the Sotanghon soup recipe posted.

The sotanghon soup recipe was perfectly the thing that I was looking for.  I immediately went to a nearby grocery and bought the missing ingredients.  Then I went straight to cooking.  I have some certain fondness in soups nowadays.  It must be because ramen is so popular.  So even with the very hot weather in the country, I still went ahead with preparing this yummy looking sotanghon soup with meatballs.  I think people call this almondigas but I’m not sure if it’s the same thing. Sago Recipe

When I saw the sago that I bought from the supermarket, I was clueless on what to do.  I didn’t know how to cook it!  This may sound silly but I’m really just a total newbie in the kitchen.  I had to research to understand how to prepare sago. Read More

Recipe: Fruit Pops

Fruit Pops Recipe

I’m getting tired of fruit salad.  It has been the usual dish that people prepare every holiday season.  Since I got myself another fruit cocktail from the company’s Christmas basket, I made it a point to find a recipe for it.

Good thing Del Monte has a very simple recipe that uses the fruit cocktail, this time, as fruit pops!  Since I have some ice drop molds in the kitchen, I didn’t think twice in preparing it.  The recipe is pretty easy.  All we need is just to combine all the ingredients, put the mixture into the molds, freeze the pops overnight, and serve. Recipe: Lomi

Lomi Recipe

I used an iOS program to check if I have anything in my kitchen that will expire in a few days.  I found out that apparently, the Star margarine that I have will be expiring in a week.  Because of that, I tried to find recipes online on how I can use it.  I do not want to waste any food ingredient.  It’s just not right 🙂

I stumbled upon Magnolia’s website, which sells Star Margarine.  Among all the Star Margarine recipes, the lomi caught my eye.  There are a lot of ingredients in this dish, but it’s not hard to cook.  So I challenged myself to cook lomi. Read More
