My Palm PDA History
Posted by Rochelle Sy Chua On August 11, 2008
You might have noticed that I’ve been blogging a lot about Palm OS programs. You also might be wondering why I’m doing so as Palm PDA is already somewhat dead heehehe.
Well, I love my iPhone but I also still appreciate my Palm Tungsten T|X. I miss a lot of my Palm OS programs. The developers are slowly making similar applications for the iPhone. But still, Palm OS has thousands and thousands of applications. So I’m keeping both those gadgets (my iPhone & Palm T|X).
Palm Tungsten T|X will be my last Palm PDA but just to reminisce. I’ll also share my history with Palm PDAs…
- Palm IIIc
This is my 1st ever ever PDA. I think this is my 1st gadget ever!
It was the 1st time I really took a lot of effort to understand and make good use of s0mething.
I remember that I was able to get this because my mom’s relative doesn’t want this thing anymore and wanted to throw it away. Then I asked if I can have it instead. So that was the start of my PDA journey.
- Palm Zire 71
This was given to me as a birthday gift 6-7 years ago. It was the latest model that time. This is somewhat the “cool†Palm model. It has a camera that is clear, very bright display and hip hip hiiiippppp design 🙂
I actually loved this unit because of the camera. I think I got so addicted to it that I picture everything I see haahhaa. Unfortunately, I didn’t keep them so I can’t share it now. hehehe
I used this for less than a year though, coz a newer model came out and I liked it a looot better. Though I believe this model is still the coolest looking model ever created by Palm.
- Palm Tungsten T|3
I have some major history/experiences with this Palm PDA Model.
This is my well-loved PDA. But unfortunately, seems like the gadget itself doesn’t like me 🙁
First, It accidentally fell into the toilet bowl. Obviously, this is out of scope of the warranty. so I have no choice, the PDA was already a necessity for me that time.
So I bought another T|3, that’s how I love this PDA. Unfortunately, after 3 months it accidentally fell again. This time it fell to the cement floor and the screen cracked. Obviously again this is out of scope for the warranty 🙁
I didn’t want to push it anymore. So I bought the newer model Palm Tungsten T|X. I’m still using it till now.
I still believe that the Palm Tungsten T|3 is the best model Palm created ever. Though they have released a lot of newer models, nothing beats this model.
- Palm Tungsten T|X
This is the most high-tech PDA Palm has created.
It has both bluetooth and Wi-Fi. And it’s going to be very useful as there are thousands of applications available out there for this gadget.
I bought this just because my Palm Tungsten T|3 quit on me. So instead of buying another T|3, I just bought the latest model which is T|X at that time.
I never thought that this will be the last PDA model of Palm.
I still bring my Palm T|X every single day. I use it mainly for productivity purposes. 🙂
Palm: Crazy Daisy
Posted by Rochelle Sy Chua On August 10, 2008
This game is addicting.
In order to score, you match petals. When you match more petals, you gain bigger points.
To play, you tap the daisies to rotate and match petals between daisies.
There are 3 modes of this game.
- Arcade Mode – This is where you compete against the clock to match petals before the time runs out. When you match petals, you’ll gain more time.
- Endless Mode – this mode doesn’t have a timer or scorer. If you just want to relax and play without any challenge, this mode is for you.
- Puzzle Mode – This is where you really plan your moves as the more petals you match, you’ll be able to go the next levels.
It has very good sounds and cute insect sound effects.

This game is created by Astraware and will be bought here for $9.95
Palm: Bejeweled 2

Bejeweled is a color-matching game. In order to play, you swap adjacent games to make sets of 3 or more. If you clear more than 1 set, you’ll get extra points.
If you swap 4 gems, you’ll get a power gem. While 5 gems will create a hyper cube.
This game has 4 modes: Classic, Endless, Puzzle & Action. It has 5 extra bonus modes which needs to be unlocked as you progress through the 4 game modes.
It has beautiful graphics and awesome sounds. And obviously, this game is really popular as it’s also available as a desktop game.

This game is created by Astraware and available here for $14.95.
Palm: Zuma
Posted by Rochelle Sy Chua On August 10, 2008
This game by astraware reminds me of one popular game (but I can’t remember its name hahaha).
Anyway, the goal of Zuma is to fire balls from the rotating stone frog to make groups of 3 or more balls of the same color.
If you do, it will remove the balls from the line. The main goal of this game is to remove all the balls before it reaches the skull pit.

Palm: Zap! 2016

Objective of the game is to destroy all aliens & avoid all hazards.
Your ship is equipped with weapons which will be better as you go through your mission.
Move to the left and right with the palm controls and use the 4 buttons below to shoot.
If you do shoot a complete wave of aliens, they will drop items for you to collect. These are the items that you can get:
- Coins – Keep them until the end of the level to get bonus points!
- Powerup Crystals – upgrades your ship weapons.
- Shield – use this and you’ll be invulnerable for a short time.
- Nuke Wave – atomic blast!
I like this game a lot but the resolution seems to be a lil off for me.
