Slenda Commercial Shoot & Slenda

I was invited to watch the Slenda new commercial shoot last saturday.  It was my 1st time to watch a commercial shoot and found out that it is indeed tiring.  Imagine the model has to repeat the lines for hours (literally!), never thought that being a model is that hard, I initially thought that it’s the easiest profession of all.

Slenda has 2 new models in addition to Valerie Concepcion.  We have the privilege to meet them all but I can’t stay the whole day so I was only able to meet their new endorsers- Gloria Diaz & her daughter Isabelle Daza.

Gloria Diaz is just soo charming, she’s very welcoming, down to earth, easy to talk to, very smart and nice.  We talked about Slenda (ofcourse!), her stint at the Miss Universe Pageant, her daughters, life, etc. She’s still soooo pretty at her age, truly Miss Universe.  Was able to take pictures with her after the discussion.

We were also able to meet Isabelle but she’s in between shoot so we have to make it really short.  Rico took the time to interview her regarding her gadgets, she showed us her macbook, her canon camera & her phones.  She said she’ll be getting a blackberry storm soon.  Was also able to take picture with her.  She’s a beauty & according to her mom (Gloria Diaz), she’s a very conservative lady.

We’ve met the models but why are we all here?  What product are they advertising?  What product made them believe and endorse it?  I also discovered a great product that day…

It’s SLENDA 🙂

Slenda is a supplement product that you can take 10 minutes before meals.  It promises to address overweight & obesity problems through the ingredients in the products which are:

  • Resveratol – help reduce & eliminate fat resulting in the reduction of excess body weight by blocking the accumulation of fat in the tissues.  known to possess anti-lipid, anti-viral, anti-bacterial & anti-cancer properties & more prominently, the lowering effect of what we commonly know as ‘bad’ cholesterol or LDL (low density lipoprotein).
  • EGCG (epigallocatechin gallate) – flavonoid found in green tea that eliminates fat due to a lipase inhibitor which allows fat to be excreted in the stools.
  • Banaba (Lagerstroemia speciosa) – contains sterols that reduce serum cholesterol & protect the body against infections by boosting the immune system.
  • Turmeric or Luyang Dilaw (curcuma longa linn) – helps reduce & break cholesterol in the body by efficient bile flow, thus also help prevent gallstone formation.
The discussion that day convinced me that I should try the product out and see myself.  They gave us 1 month worth of Slenda.  I’ll definitely plan to try this out, I’ll start taking September 1.  3 times a day before every major meal.

Aside from Slenda, we were also given DVDs of Slendance.  Remember what Valerie Concepcion was endorsing about?  Slendance is an easy to follow 30-minute work out that combines aerobic exercise, coordination, endurance & mental workout.

Let me show you a video of the Slendance Ad:

More pictures from the meet here.

HeaRty’s Haven will be giving away 1-month worth of Slenda & a DVD of Slendance to 5 lucky readers very soon.  Just always visit my site & I’ll provide details on how to join and win 🙂

1st Annual Dodgeball Tournament at Club 650 Libis

playboy-poster-revised

The 1st ever annual dodgeball tournament organized by Playboy Philippines happened last May 30, 2009 for the benefit of Gives Back Foundation.

This tournament aims to raise at least Php200,000 for the chemotherapy of 9 cancer patients at the Veterans Hospital in Q.C.

There were a total of 8 teams who joined the tournament coming from various sectors like celebrities, media, bloggers, sponsors, etc.

I was part of one of the blogger teams called Blogballers. Though we didn’t make it to the semifinals, we all had fun! I myself is thrilled as it was the 1st time that I played the game and learned & practiced the game all in 1 day

The Philippine Dodgeball Association was there to help teach the players how to properly play dodgeball. The objective of the game is mainly to eliminate all members of the opposing team by hitting them with balls. Players (4-10 players on each team) will need to throw the ball to hit a member of the opposing team. Once a player is hit, they get eliminated BUT once an opposing member catch a thrown ball, they will be brought back to the game again. So this ends as soon as 1 team has noone left in the playing court.

Thanks to the sponsors for making this happen. Sponsors include 100 Plus, Lozatech, Capsulac, Potato Chips, etc.

Lozatech Team emerged as champions in this tournament. Congratulations to them! Their strategy and energy to play is really outstanding!

Nike+ Human Race 10k

1256__320x240_humanrace_logo

I never imagined that I’ll be able to complete/finish a race like this one.

I’m not really an athletic person and I never really jogged.

I tried early this year to jog/run but all I did was to walk around UP oval. I tried to jog but can’t seem to sustain it.

I was very ambitious when I joined this 10k race, thinking that I can just walk all through out and not care about my pride or what others might say. I came there prepared to be the last person to finish the race.

When we started the race though, I already thought of quitting. FORTUNATELY, I have 4 angels with me namely Kristy, Drew, Tim & Gian.

photo-6photo-4photo-2photo-5

They have chosen to stay with me and push me to jog/run/walk and not stop so we can all together finish the race.

They really could have finished the race in 1 hour but they cheered all the way and decided to stay with me and run/walk/jog all the way to the finish line in 2 hours. There was even a point where they are already pulling me along the road hahahahaa!

I could not have completed the race without them… so thank you guys if you’re reading this!

It is truly an achievement and I’m so happy and so inspired to run (really!!!).

Starting this week, every sunday I’ll jog/walk until I learn how to do it properly. Once I’m ready, I’ll join another race. This time around, I won’t slow any people down. Promise!

The Nike Plus Human Race is a worldwide event and I’m so happy that I’m part of it. I made history!

Picture 2

As expected I’m just ranked as #290 out of 300 runners, #88 out of 92 female runners. hahaha What’s important is we completed the race and I’m happy & proud!

And as a bonus, I got these freebies
