Recipe: Hotdog in Thick Sauce

hotdog sardines

A friend taught me how to cook tinola and the spice that my friend used during the tutorial was Magic Sarap.  If you use Magic Sarap, you would know that the spice is being sold at supermarkets in a bundle.  So I got myself several extra magic sarap.  I wondered how I can use them because I do not think I would cook tinola nine times in a single month.

Luckily, there are recipes at the back of the Magic Sarap package.  One of those dishes featured is hotdog in a thick sauce (sarciadong hotdog).  I tried it out today and was glad with the result.  Now I don’t need to cook sardines fried each time, hehehe! Read More

Recipe: Cucumber-Celery Juice

Cucumber Celery Juice Recipe

Ever since I got sick the other week, I said to myself that I should start eating healthy.  I know it’s going to be super hard because I love junk food, I love fried food, and I love oily & spicy food.

I came across a lot of articles about juicing.  The articles state that juicing will help detox and will definitely help us achieve a good health.  I kept that in mind.  Good thing I bought myself a juicer from months ago due to a sale in the malls.  So there goes my chance to finally use it. Recipe: Red Iced Tea

Tokyo Tokyo Red Iced Tea Replicate

I’ve always loved Tokyo Tokyo’s Red Iced Tea.  Whenever I eat there, apart from ordering their bento box, I get myself their well-known red iced tea.  There are times that I would go to Tokyo Tokyo just to get myself an iced tea for take out.  I never thought that I would be able to replicate it at the comfort of my home.  While I’m not sure if that’s how the restaurant made it, but this recipe closely resembles the taste of Tokyo Tokyo’s Red Iced tea.

Now, how did I discover this?  Thanks to Kate of A Mother’s Home Journal.  I was browsing through the net to find myself some recipes and stumbled upon her red iced tea recipe.  I made it today.  I must say that it was a good artificial juice drink! Read More

Recipe: Ground Pork and Tofu Stir Fry

Ground Pork and Tofu Stir Fry Recipe

I continue to find recipes online that use ground pork as an ingredient.  Yesterday, I chose to cook Fifteen Spatulas‘ version of Ground Pork and Tofu stir fry.  The instructions were easy to follow so I was able to replicate it quickly.  I learned through the post that the main sauces in this dish are apparently chill sauce and hoisin sauce.  I bought the hoisin sauce for a month now but was still clueless on where to use it. So I was thrilled to see that it’s one of the ingredients I had to use for the Ground Pork and Tofu Stir Fry. Read More

Recipe: Torta

Ground Pork Omelette

Ever since I bought 1.5 kilos of ground pork due to a sale in S&R, I had been looking for recipes to cook with it.  One of the recipes that caught my attention is Wok with Ray‘s Filipino Style Omlette.  He made the torta look so delicious that I couldn’t help but plan to cook one myself ASAP.

Today, I finally did it.  I changed a bit of the ingredients from Ray’s recipe.  I used ground pork instead of ground turkey and made some adjustments in the cooking.  It takes time to cook Tortang giniling but after eating it, you’ll feel that it’s all worth it! Read More
