This was a first for me. I wore red boots that went up to my knee. And you know what? I bought this pair for PHP450.00 (got it through a sale during my Taiwan Trip). It took me quite sometime to find a suitable outfit for it.
Much to my surprise, my beloved friend & colleague, Maus was wearing the same style of outfit and shoes!!! This was a huge coincidence.
We were both wearing boots! People don’t usually wear boots on a working day 😛
We were sporting the same hairdo & we were both wearing dresses!!! I’m just amazed that we thought of wearing the same outfit without even talking about it.
It was such a LOL-ing moment that we decided to have a mini photoshoot! We asked Koko to take pictures of us just to document this rare occasion. hahaha! We were just to embarassed that people will find out how crazy we are having a photoshoot in the office that it took us only 15minutes to finish everything hahaha! A laugh trip indeed 😀
It is sad that the impression of people regarding Pasig River is that it’s heavily polluted (dirty).
The Ilog Pasig (as we call it here in the Philippines) was once a beautiful river. It connects Laguna de Bay (Laguna Lake) to Manila Bay. It basically divides Metro Manila into 2 (North and South).
Due to continuous development of industrial surroundings and negligence of the people, the 25 kilometer river became very polluted. It is even considered dead (the river can not sustain life) according to experts 🙁
The government and environmentalists have been establishing programs, initiatives, activities to slowly revive the river and bring it back to its old glory. I definitely support those kinds of activities and really hope we succeed in our cause. One of those activities is the Run for the Pasig River, which will be held on November 8. This is an activity organized by Kapit Bisig Para Sa Ilog Pasig (KBPIP). The route will cross 13 bridges of the waterway and will allow runners to get close to the river, as portions of the race will be run alongside the river itself.
One thing that I found unique about this race is that you can run a full 42 km marathon by being part of a relay team composed of either 20 or 40 people.
There are also short distance categories of 3k, 5k and 10k runs. Age limit for those races is 6 years and above. The run will be supervised by race director Rudy Biscocho and his team.
Water stations will be situated every 2km from starting line to finish line.
To participate, you just need to pay Php250. Free running clinics will be available for 1st-time runners. Registration forms are available online for marathon & relay or register at the ff. outlets:

Sorry, I just can’t help it! I love this Japanese snack very, very, very, very, very much!!!! 😀
I first tried this at a Japanese restaurant in Greenbelt, Makati. My friend taught me how to eat it and when I finally tried it, it was heaven! It’s soooooooo yummy! Since then, I knew I would be craving for this forever.
Edamame is baby soybeans in the pod which is commonly found in Japan, Korea & China. It is best known as a healthy snack that is high in protein, vitamin A, vitamin B and calcium. Perfect right? Not quite. It is expensive!
A pack of uncooked edamame (See below) costs Php 62 at a Japanese grocery. How I wish it was cheaper so I could eat this every single day. I can finish all of this in 1 sitting.
To prepare this awesome snack, this is what you need to do. Let the pods boil in water. You can add salt to the boiling water or it can be added to the pods after it has been cooked.
Wait! Don’t eat the pods in whole hehehe 😛 You will need to peel them off so you can eat the beans inside. (See the picture below w/ a pod opened) – Those 3 little light green beans are the ones we are eating.
I promise! This is the best snack ever! Healthy even! Loooooooveeeeee it!
Just the other day, I blogged about Daifu Noodle House. I mentioned there that I’ll definitely go back & try their desserts.
So funny that I can’t seem to control myself. So the next day, I went back to the restaurant and ordered their dessert.
As promised, I’ll be sharing if I liked it or not.
4 Treasures Ice Dessert (Php 60)
If you want to try everything, then this is what you should order. These are the four treasures: Taro, Red Mongo, Green Mongo and Peanuts. I tried peanuts first then taro then mongo. I didn’t really feel that it is a dessert because they put so many of the main ingredients that it overpowered the ice. I ended up feeling that I was eating something heavy to the stomach and not a dessert.
Mango Ice Dessert (Php 50)
This mango dessert, I think tasted better than the rest of their dessert menu. It could have been better if they just put pure mangoes instead of mixing it with jelly.
Unfortunately, there were so many ants in this order. I think it came with the jelly or the mangoes. There were already four ants found before we complained. The server quickly said sorry and asked her fellow servers to give us a new one. We declined and they just suggested to cancel the order
Fresh Lumpia (Php 50)
I know! i know! This is not a dessert! If you noticed the title of this post, there is “something extra,” the lumpia is the something extra. I can’t help it! It really looked delicious! It didn’t disappoint. Generous serving and super yummy!!! You should order this when you go to Daifu Noodle House!
This is my verdict. I totally udnerstand why they were so generous with the serving. As we always say, everything excessive is not good. In this case, it didn’t feel like a dessert anymore because I couldn’t taste the ice. Maybe it would taste better if they could balance the ice & fruits/beans/peanuts/taro.
On the plus side, their service is superb! I was impressed 🙂
I got the LG G230 for free at the Sun Shop – Park Square branch. I’ve been satisfied with Sun Cellular so it was not a difficult decision to renew my account for another 2 years. Though, Sun Cellular will still need to expand their network as signal is still bad on some areas, I’m hopeful that they can really compete with giant companies, Globe and Smart.
This is my 1st ever LG phone! I can say that I’m impressed! I have an iPhone which does everything for me so I got this phone as backup. I don’t plan to have sun as my main phone as signal is not strong in certain areas. I’m still torn though if I’m going to stay with Globe or move to Smart already but I’m leaning towards moving to Smart.
The phone looks so nice! And I just realized that this is also my 1st ever slider phone!!! LG people designed this phone so perfectly, I believe the features of the phone works really well with how it was designed.
Included in the box are:
Phone Unit
Charger
Headset
Installation CD
USB cable
Manual
Best loved feature of LG GB230? Wireless FM!!! I don’t know if you noticed, but w/ other mobile phones, you have to connect the headset to get a signal. With LG GB230, its wireless antenna is built-in! You don’t need your headset to listen to FM radio. You can even just use the phone’s speakers to listen to it!
The speaker’s ubercool! It is powerful, loud, sounds are clear and in good quality. I definitely love this phone! If you’re looking for a basic phone and you don’t need 3G, then this is your phone.
