This is one of my favorite restaurants though I admit their food is very expensive. Whenever I feel bad or if I need any comfort food, this is where I’ll go.

I had lunch yesterday w/ a long-lost friend here. The 1st thing we noticed is that only a few people seems to be eating there…

Here are what we ordered:

  • Beef Kebab (Php 315)
photo-2

This is the only reason why I love this restaurant.. their beef kebab is deliiiiiiiiiccccciiiiiooooouusss.. yummy!

  • Lamb Kebab (Php 380)
photo-1

This is my 1st time to try the lamb kebab, and since this is more expensive.. I’m kinda expecting that it will taste better than the beef kebab… but I was wrong… I almost threw up coz I didn’t like the taste at all..

  • Plain Rice w/ Saffron (P168)
photo

This is now a really overpriced rice… but I really like this admittedly… Maybe it’s in the grain or the saffron?

  • Garlic Sauce (P75)
photo-3

I asked for this not thinking that we are going to be charged for it.. This is where I really got disappointed… Why the heck should we be charged for a garlic sauce? I mean the kebabs won’t be the complete without it… arrgghhh

I really really love their kebabs but I’m quite hesitant to go back there anymore… The service is excellent but the food is expensive & Garlic sauce should be free… I guess if I’m craving for Persian food, I’ll just go to Arya next time.

——————–

We went to Old Chinatown Kopitiam to celebrate Joanne’s & Ronald’s Birthday. It was truly well attended as barkadas on both sides attended the celebration.

There were truly a LOT of food… and here are some of what we ordered:

  • Maya Maya Soup (Php 558)
photo-0

This one I love very very much! It tasted soooooo good! I’m not fond of soups w/ fish but this one I can’t resist. You must order this if you plan to order soup in Old ChinaTown Kopitiam.

  • Mushroom Fried Rice (Php 298)
photo-1

this is ok… nothing special

  • Spicy Gong Bao Chicken w/ Cashew (Php 198)
photo-2

Not my favorite… I didn’t feel it’s spicy enough

  • Old Chinatown Signature Mee (Php 198)
photo-3

The birthday celebrants ordered quite a few variants of noodles.. and I can’t seem to distinguish one from the other hehehee

  • Claypot Beef Kienchi (Php 228)
photo-4

beef stew.. normal also

  • Kopi Spareribs (Php 188)
photo-5

When it comes to spareribs, I always prefer the salt & pepper one. So I didn’t appreciate this much though I must admit this tasted good too

  • Hokkien Mee (Php 348)
photo-7

  • Bah Kut Teh (Php 578)
photo-8

I really love the soups of this restaurant. This one is advertised as a healthy soup. Meat were cooked with 16 herbs & spices… yummy

  • Beef Char Kway w/ Bittermelon (Php 378)
photo-9

  • Fresh Spinach w/ Scallops (Php 188)
photo-11

  • Char Kway Teow (Php 228)
photo-13

  • Crispy Pork Belly (Php 188)
photo-14

  • Claypot Pork Belly w/ Salted Fish (Php 198)
photo-15

  • Oatmeal Prawns (Php 598)
photo-16

I was extremely excited to try this dish but unfortunately, I was disappointed. I guess this is because I first tried this dish at Palm Beach (located in Fort)… I thought that it would taste the same.. I guess it’s really incomparable

  • King Fish w/ Spicy Meat Sauce (Php 248)
photo-17

I forgot to taste this! hahahaha I was distracted already coz we started taking pictures.

  • Claypot Chicken Rice (Php 328)
photo-18

  • Chilled Almond (Php 48)
photo-10

It’s more of a dessert than a drink, I always order almond juice if it’s available. In this case, I’d rather drink the service tea provided ehhehe

Overall, I still think that the food is really good. This was already my 2nd time here in the restaurant and I still feel that you can find better tasting food here. A must-try if you’re in Quezon City area.

Nike+ Human Race 10k

I never imagined that I’ll be able to complete/finish a race like this one.

I’m not really an athletic person and I never really jogged.

I tried early this year to jog/run but all I did was to walk around UP oval. I tried to jog but can’t seem to sustain it.

I was very ambitious when I joined this 10k race, thinking that I can just walk all through out and not care about my pride or what others might say. I came there prepared to be the last person to finish the race.

When we started the race though, I already thought of quitting. FORTUNATELY, I have 4 angels with me namely Kristy, Drew, Tim & Gian.

photo-6photo-4photo-2photo-5

They have chosen to stay with me and push me to jog/run/walk and not stop so we can all together finish the race.

They really could have finished the race in 1 hour but they cheered all the way and decided to stay with me and run/walk/jog all the way to the finish line in 2 hours. There was even a point where they are already pulling me along the road hahahahaa!

I could not have completed the race without them… so thank you guys if you’re reading this!

It is truly an achievement and I’m so happy and so inspired to run (really!!!).

Starting this week, every sunday I’ll jog/walk until I learn how to do it properly. Once I’m ready, I’ll join another race. This time around, I won’t slow any people down. Promise!

The Nike Plus Human Race is a worldwide event and I’m so happy that I’m part of it. I made history!

Picture 2

As expected I’m just ranked as #290 out of 300 runners, #88 out of 92 female runners. hahaha What’s important is we completed the race and I’m happy & proud!

And as a bonus, I got these freebies

Carie invited me to Red Crab last night to have dinner. She also invited her badminton friends there.

Well, the food is nice & ofcourse the price is nice too (hahah if you know what I mean).

Here are what we ordered:

  • Luciano’s Paella Adobo (Php 329)
photo-17

This was deliciooouusss! If I’m not on a diet, I might have gotten a 2nd serving. Oh well…

  • Sarsuela Negra (Php 445)
photo-15
I never really appreciated black rice, I was too worried that it will stain my teeth and I still need to meet my other friends for coffee. I only tried the tahong & chicken heheh.. It’s ok just normal

  • Sisig 2 ways – Sisig Tartars & Tofu Stuffed (Php 295)
photo-16
I didn’t try the Sisig Tartars coz it looked raw… The Tofu stuffed is a great concept though.. and delicious too!

  • Oyster Floren Tin (Php 335)
photo-18
I’m not fond of oysters but this I really love. It’s not part of their menu but they do recommend this to Reb Crab guests.

  • Baby Back Ribs in Classic Humba (Php 445)
photo-19
Perfect Presentation! It tasted good as well.

  • Iced Tea (Php 95)
photo-9
According to them, the iced tea was too sweet. This is refillable by the way.

  • Lipton Red Iced Tea (Php 56)
photo-8
Normal hahaha

  • Crab Szechuan (Php 1,620)
photo-20

This was an extremely expensive crab! Php 135/100g (1.2KG). wowness.

When you plan to eat this crab or have some friends who’s going to eat it. Better wear the red apron This is me wearing it hehehehe

photo-24

All in all, the food was really good. I just felt that the crab was wayyyyy too expensive.

Anyhow, it was a fun dinner, great company and all! 🙂

Mac: View Hidden Files in Finder

How do I view the hidden files and folders in Finder?

Finder is the files explorer for the Mac OS.

This is what I learned and would like to share with you.

  • Open Terminal
You can find this by clicking Finder -> Applications -> Utilities -> Terminal

  • To see all hidden files, type the ff. in Terminal
defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles TRUE
killall Finder
  • That’s it! You’ll be able to see all your system files.
  • If you want to revert back to before.. See step # 5
  • To hide all system files, type the ff. in Terminal
defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles FALSE
killall Finder
