This diet is not just about slimming down, but is all about fitness and a healthier lifestyle!

Here’s what you need to do:

  • Register on the official site.
  • Form a team.
  • Attend the public launch & weigh-in on November 14, 2009 at Greenbelt Park.  In this event, you’ll also be able to catch the expensive clothes unveiled.
  • Take the 14-day plan
The meal-plan is to maximize the benefits of Nestle’s Fitnesse product on your figure.

We need to replace breakfast and one other meal (dinner or lunch) with Nestle Fitnesse.  If there’s a need to take snacks in between, fruits & vegetables are the only ones that Nestle recommended to eat.  For best results, this meal plan should be coupled with exercise 🙂
  • Invite your friends to vote for you 🙂
  • write a journal stating your experience on the 14-day plan.
  • Attend the final weigh-in on November 28, 2009 at Nestle Center, Rockwell.
Winners will be announced on December 10, 2009.
You can also nominate a fashionista friend on facebook or on the official site.  I nominated Pauline Ang.  She was a chatmate in MiRc way way back in 1998.  I just remembered she’s someone who really dress so fabulously and deserved this nomination from me.
Hurry, you only have 1 week to go to form your team and join the contest!  I wish I can join but I have an appointment on November 14 & with that, I just lost this chance to win the Chanel dress that I want :'(

But you can so join now!  It isn’t everyday that you get the chance to win designer clothes and also get a good plan for a diet. 🙂

保安宮 Pao-an Temple
台北市大同區哈密街61號
886 (02) 2595-1676
admission: free

——————–
保安宮 Pao-an Temple is by far the best temple I have visited in Taipei.  It had such beautiful design, painting & carvings in the building.  People do go there for a certain purpose & is one of the leading religious places.

Upon entering, you will be able to see a guide on how to go around ä¿å®‰å®® Pao-an Temple.  It will tell you where to visit first and which spirit to worship.

Construction of the taoist temple started in 1805 and took 25 long years to be built.  Emperor Pao-Shen is the focus of worship at 保安宮 Pao-an Temple.  He was a popular & highly skilled doctor when he was still alive.  People go to ä¿å®‰å®® Pao-an Temple to seek for good health.

Other notables are the ff.:

Open-mouthed lions as a sign of good governance & rule of law.  There were 2 of them by the way, a male & a female.

The goddess of birth that reside in the bell tower has 12 female aides that help assist childbirth during a given month.  This is very popular for pregnant women.

Action Photography Workshop at R.O.X.

READY AIM SHOOT ROX

Last night, I attended the Action Photography Workshop at R.O.X. (Recreational Outdoor eXchange), Bonifacio High Street.

It was a free 2-part workshop with professional photographer Benjamin M. Chan of Blacksheep Photography.  The topic was Action photography 101 and was co presented by Canon.  I’ve been wanting to learn this as I’ve been unsuccessful with my action shots.  I know I’ve been doing something wrong and would want to get tips from a professional action photographer.  So this was a good opportunity.

I arrived 30 minutes after it started because of traffic.  I missed the introduction and I felt that it was the most important part of the lecture as the speaker defined what action photography is.  Anyhow, I was still able to catch lots of tips from Ben Chan.  I feel though that this workshop was more suited for advanced photographers or at least someone who already took basic photography.

Here are some of the things I learned from the event:

3 types of Action Shots:

  • Static Shot – camera in a static position, subject moving towards the camera.
  • Panning Shot – camera in a static position but panning along subject’s perpendicular direction.
  • Tracking Shot – camera moves alongside subject’s direction.
Things to do before a shoot:
  1. Conceptualize – get inspired by reading, watching, imagining, daydreaming
  2. Visualize – make doodles, sketches, snapshots
  3. Organize – call, meet & plan

The secret to good pictures are lightings.  Ben showed us the difference between using just 1 light, 2 lights & 3 lights.  Now I know, I need to buy a flash for my Canon G10.

Ben also showed us his recent photo shoot for a magazine, Bull Runner.  Pretty cool pictures!  We loved it!  I took pictures of the slides so you’d get an idea what I’m talking about.

Once again, I would like to thank Canon, R.O.X. & Blacksheep photography for this opportunity.  Too bad, I won’t be able to join tomorrow’s workshop as I have a seminar to attend this weekend.  I don’t think I’ll be able to join the contest as well.  I had work today and tomorrow I have a whole-day seminar to attend.  So assignment fail for me huhuhuhuhuhu :'(

I Love Makati Video Contest

I_Love_Makati_horizontal_-_Final

I spend most of my time in this city compared even to the place where I live.  Ironic, isn’t it?  Well, that’s just because i work in Makati, the business capital of the Philippines.  A great place to work in, and I truly believe everyone treats Makati as their choice of workplace.  All the big companies have their offices here.

Aside from that, Makati also has such beautiful malls. Glorietta, Greenbelt and Powerplant come to mind. Aren’t they enough reason for us to love this place?

Do I love Makati?  Yes, I do 🙂

How about you?  Do you love Makati?  Jupiter Suites Budget Hotel in Makati, MakatiDeli & Budget Travels Philippines have joined forces to launch I Love Makati Video Contest.  It is aimed to encourage Makati lovers from 18 years old and above to spread how much they love their city.

You just have to create a video that captures why you love Makati.  It can highlight living, doing business & tourism spots in the city.  Video should be no less than 30 seconds.  Full mechanics here.

So what are you waiting for?  Php50,000 cash is up for grabs.  Five runner-ups will get Php10,000 each.  Lastly, first 10 qualified submission will get a 2 nights weekend stay voucher at Jupiter Suites.

Get your video camera now and show some love! 🙂

——————–
Got word that the contest is extended till December 30, 2009!!  Wow better chances for us!!

Cheap Movie House in Taipei

3940390741_e82968cab5

If you’re a movie buff and in a budget, you would love this movie house located at 公館 Gongguan area, Taipei, Taiwan.

A normal movie ticket in Taiwan is sold between 290NT to 320NT.  This cinema, 來來佳佳大戲院 (go the movies) only costs 100NT for 2 movies that were just shown 2 to 3months ago.  Wow!

3941169824_ba2d43ef1a

The theater normally feature different combination of movies.  There are hollywood movies & chinese movies so you can take your pick.  My mom always go to there.  She told me that it really doesn’t make much difference because the movie is still new in her opinion (w/c I agree by the way).  Just 2 months after its major release is still fresh and I still consider that as new as well.

So if you’re living in Taipei and in the mood to have movie marathon.  This is the place to go.

3940392267_fb37dcf01c

We do have “somewhat” similar promos here in Manila.  SM cinemas offer us old movies for just Php10!  I mean it’s pretty much free!  But the movies are from wayyy wayyy back, like years ago.  I hope local movie houses do something similar as ä¾†ä¾†ä½³ä½³å¤§æˆ²é™¢ (go the movies).
