How to Block People on Your IMs & Social Networking Sites

Sometimes we meet people who are either scary or annoying, we would want them to stop stalking us or have any relations with us. Since most of us have instant messengers & social networking sites, there is a way for us not to receive any messages from them and also a way for us to prevent them from seeing our profile at the sites.

The people that we usually want to ignore or block are the ff.:

  • Stalkers
  • Con Artists
  • Criminals
  • Psycho People

So here are the instructions on how to block people:

img_3240_yahoo_messenger_5f32a44b Yahoo Messenger – Go to preferences -> Privacy -> choose Ignore list -> add the yahoo id of the person you want to block.

MSN_Messenger MSN Messenger – Go to tools -> options -> Privacy -> add people you want to block.

aim_logo AIM – Click on the buddy you want to block -> click on buddies on the pull down menu -> select block (buddy’s name) -> click on block

images Google Talk – find the name of the person on your contact list -> click on it and a new profile tab will open -> click the “block” button.

images-1 Skype – right-click name of the contact you want to block -> click Block This User

images Facebook – Go to My Privacy Page -> put the person’s name in the block people box -> click search -> choose the person you want to block -> click Block Person

images Friendster – Go to the person’s profile -> click block

Picture 1 Multiply – Go to the user’s homepage -> click block user on the right side of the page

images Twitter – Go to the user’s twitter page -> click block

images Plurk – Go to the user’s plurk page -> click block user

Hope this helps 🙂

——————-
While waiting for tune up & change oil to finish, Ankol & I had lunch at this new place in Banawe, Canton Soup Kitchen.
I initially thought that it’s just a small eating place but after seeing the menu, it’s a pretty decent restaurant after all. I would suggest they get a bigger place. Coz the food is really good! I plan to try out their other dishes some other time.

Here are what we ordered:
  • Garlic Burst Spareribs (Php 185)
IMG_7550
Best spareribs I ever tasted. I think this is slightly better than the spareribs in Mann Yann (one of my fav restaurant). Not oily, very tasty 🙂
  • Steamed Fish Fillet w/ Japanese Tofu (Php 220)
IMG_7553
This one is also yummy!!! The spices just fits together. Fish tasted fresh, tofu is just yummy! perfect sauce.
  • Fresh Pear w/ Lemon Blend (Php 65)
IMG_7548
This one I didn’t like. I guess that’s why restaurants don’t server Pear juice. I do think the restaurant just wanted to be unique but I think pears are meant to be eaten only. It just tasted like lemonade.
Aside from the food, the restaurant is also well-designed 🙂 Very chinese-themed, even the music is chinese (remember Ting Le Kun?).

Centerstage Family KTV & Resto Bar
2/F CTTM Square, Timog Avenue corner Tomas Morato, Quezon City

——————–
Christina & I bond every now & then, our favorite past time is either shopping, karaoke or dining out 🙂
Last night, it was KTV time. Our original plan was to go to Red Box but since we met at around 9pm plus already, it was already too late to go there. So we decided to go to Music 21. Unfortunately, it was jam-packed so we have to find another place to go.
Then after 15 minutes of roaming around Timog/Tomas Morato area, we saw the centerstage sign at the circle. We parked at the basement and went straight to the 2/F to check if there is available KTV room for us.

We were asked to wait in their waiting area. The 1st thing you’ll notice is their display of black CD’s with celebrity notes. Beside it are collection of pictures of those celebrities with the Centerstage staff.

On the other side is the open bar where anyone can sing their heart out for everyone to hear 😛 Do I plan to ever try singing at that part of the place? No way! That’s why I only go to karaoke and not be a professional singer, it is mainly because I don’t sing well! hahahaha

Luckily, there is an available room! We got the smallest room ofcourse since there was just the 2 of us 🙂 No promo running but room rate is Php85 per room per person, non-consumable. Not bad..
Here is what the room looks like:

You’ll notice one computer monitor where you’ll look at when choosing songs. It’s quite self-explanatory though coz you’ll just have to click the corresponding numbers to make your choices.
I was a bit disappointed with the service, we will need to go out of the room and look for a server if we want to order or take the bill. Very inconvenient considering they have a button in their remote for service and also a phone near the door for service calls. Though once we got hold of a server, she was all smiles and very accomodating.
Another thing that disappointed me was the sounds. I have yet to find a good KTV bar with good sounds especially when you use their microphone.
But still, Christina & I had a good time. Spending time with your best friend no matter where you are is heaven 🙂 Thanks Chris for the time! See you soon.

Emperor Toastmasters Club

3836538537_f9731ae09a
So glad I attended last night’s toastmaster’s meeting. It has been a long time since I last attended the sessions mainly because of schedule conflicts. The meetings are set every 1st & 3rd wednesdays and 4th friday of the month. I’ll make sure I’ll attend frequently next time 🙂
If you wanna know what toastmasters is, it is an organization that helps people become more competent in public speaking 🙂 I joined it last year because I really have troubles speaking in public, whenever the spotlight is on me, I just black out. Since I haven’t been attending the meetings much, I still have this fear.

Basically, toastmasters meet weekly where they practice their skills by filling a meeting role. Meeting roles are as follow:
  • Toastmaster of the Evening
  • General Evaluator
  • Language Evaluator
  • Table Topics Master
  • Time Manager
  • Ah Counter
  • Table Topics Evaluator
  • Speech Evaluator
Here is the program schedule that we follow every meeting:
  1. Opening Portion (Invocation, Toastmaster’s Promise, Opening Remarks, Word of the Day, Introduction of Members & Guests)
  2. Introduction of Toastmaster of the Meeting (Opening, Introduction of Meeting Roles)
  3. Educational Portion (Table Topics, Speeches)
  4. Evaluation Portion (General Evaluator Opening Remarks, Table Topics Evaluation, Speech Evaluation, Language Evaluation, Ah Counter Report, Timer Report, General Evaluator Closing Remarks)
  5. Concluding Portion (Closing Remarks, President’s Time, Guest Observations, Adjournment, Picture Taking)
Aside from being able to improve your speaking & leadership skills. One other thing that I love with the club I’m in, Emperor Toastmasters, is that the people are just sooooo warm & nice.
If you are interested to join toastmasters, you can choose a location near you. Just click here, you won’t regret it 🙂
Pictures from the August 19 meeting can be found here.
