Recipe: Watermelon Agua Fresca
May 20, 2014

There are two ways to prepare watermelon drink. It can either be watermelon juice or watermelon shake. For this post, I’m sharing with you the watermelon juice recipe that I followed. It’s called watermelon agua fresca. For me, it’s simply watermelon juice. The one that is so liquified 🙂
Apart from cooking some more dishes, I also plan to learn more fresh fruit juice recipes. The only thing that is stopping me is cleaning the different tools used to prepare the juice. I hope I’ll have more focus to concentrate on devouring fresh fruit drinks rather than think about the hassle of cleaning afterwards.
So here is…. Watermelon Agua Fresca… perfect to serve with tons of ice!
- 1 pc watermelon
- 4 cups water
- [for the syrup]
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup water
- Scoop spoonfuls of fruit from watermelon.
- Put watermelon to a blender.
- Add water.
- Blend until liquefied.
- Strain through a strainer to remove fibers.
- Skim and discard excess foam from juice.
- Place sugar and water into a saucepan over medium heat.
- Stir until sugar has dissolved.
- Turn off heat.
- Let syrup cool to room temperature.
- Pour syrup into watermelon juice.
- Put drink into a pitcher.
- To serve, fill glass with ice cubes and pour agua fresca drink.
