Recipe: Pork-Pina Guisado

I noticed that I still have two packs of pineapple tidbits in my pantry cabinet. That’s why I searched through the website of Del Monte to find a suitable recipe for it. Good thing I found one and it was a savory recipe, perfect for lunch! The dish is called Pork-Pina Guisado which means sautéed pork and pineapple.
I loved cooking it! The Pork-Pina Guisado recipe was easy to follow and the dish turned out to be yummy! And the ingredients aren’t expensive as well. The Pork-Pina Guisado can be considered a budget-friendly dish.
Pork-Pina Guisado

Ingredients
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 piece medium-sized onion
- 300 grams ground pork
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1/2 cup potatoes, diced
- 1/2 cup carrots, diced
- 1 1/2 tablespoons raisins
- 2 tablespoons water
- 2 pouches 115 grams Pineapple tidbits, drained, syrup reserved
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
Instructions
- Heat oil in a wok.
- Add garlic, onion, ground pork and soy sauce into the pan. Sauce for 3 minutes.
- Add pineapple syrup, water, potatoes, carrots and raisins.
- Add salt, sugar and pepper. Mix well.
- Simmer for 5 minutes until the vegetables are cooked and tender.
- Add pineapple tidbits. Cook for another 3 minutes.
- Transfer into a serving plate and enjoy!
