Recipe: Pasta Raisins and Nuts
January 19, 2014

I’m trying to keep as little food in my house as much as possible. This is so I can plan what I have to cook better. This december, I got a whole bunch of groceries from the office as a holiday gift. One of those items was an Italian spaghetti sauce. In line with my goal, I have to start using it already. I made good success with the pinoy version so I thought that I might be successful in cooking this one too!
As usual, I got the recipe from the product manufacturer’s website. It took me an hour to cook everything (including the pasta). I’m sure it’ll be faster for you because I still took a lot of time taking pictures of every cooking procedure.
The original recipe says that you can add olives. However, I’m not really a fan of the ingredient so I took it out. You can always add it as you please.
- 175 g Cooked Pasta
- 150 g ground beef
- 1 piece onion, chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 piece bell pepper, minced
- 2 tbsp raisins
- 1 tbsp toasted cashew nuts, chopped
- 250 g Italian style spaghetti sauce
- salt to taste
- 1/4 cup grated cheese
- Saute ground beef until it changes colour and the oil comes out.
- Add garlic, onion, and bell pepper and continue sautéing for 5 minutes.
- Add Italian spaghetti sauce, raisins and salt to taste.
- Simmer over low heat for 5 minutes.
- Put the cooked sauce on top of spaghetti noodles.
- Top with cashew nuts and grated cheese.

Tada! I ate this the whole day because I’m just too tired to cook more than one dish in a day. This recipe is simple with not much ingredients and taste just as good. I liked it!
Try this for yourself!
