Recipe: Ground Pork and Tofu Stir Fry
October 24, 2013

I continue to find recipes online that use ground pork as an ingredient. Yesterday, I chose to cook Fifteen Spatulas‘ version of Ground Pork and Tofu stir fry. The instructions were easy to follow so I was able to replicate it quickly. I learned through the post that the main sauces in this dish are apparently chill sauce and hoisin sauce. I bought the hoisin sauce for a month now but was still clueless on where to use it. So I was thrilled to see that it’s one of the ingredients I had to use for the Ground Pork and Tofu Stir Fry.
Tofu is one of my favourite food of all time. I will probably cook some other dishes that use tofu in the near future. But this time, let me share my experience through photos on how I whipped up the dish.
- 1 tbsp cooking oil
- 1 lb ground pork
- 1 tbsp garlic, minced
- 2 tsp ginger, minced
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 lb firm tofu, drained & cut into cubes
- 1 tbsp chili sauce
- 1 tbsp bean paste or hoisin sauce
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 3 spring onions, chopped
- 1 tbsp sesame seeds
- Put oil in a large frying pan over high heat.
- Add ground pork and cook for 10 minutes or until pork is fully cooked.
- Add garlic and ginger and cook for another minute.
- Add soy sauce and stir the ingredients
- Add tofu, chili sauce and hoisin sauce to the mixture and cook for another 3 minutes.
- Turn heat off the pan.
- Lastly, add sesame oil, spring onions, and sesame seeds.
- Serve hot!

Yay for dinner and yay because I get to eat this again tomorrow! 🙂 It feels so good whenever I finish up a new dish. I feel like I’m getting the hang of cooking already. This will be a very good habit!
