Recipe: Spicy Country Fries
April 21, 2013

I super love french fries. Whenever I feel so stressed or if I feel sad, I would go to McDonald’s and get myself a large fries. I must admit that the price is expensive for me to order it everyday.
One day, I was walking around the mall and saw the air fryer. The appliance store was marketing it as a healthy alternative to cooking fries. Would you believe that we don’t need to dip the fries in oil anymore? How cool is that? I immediately thought that I do not need to feel guilty anymore when eating plus I don’t have to go through with all the grease when cleaning the dishes & pans. So yeah, I bought the air fryer. The first dish that I cooked up using the Air Fryer is Spicy Country fries. It was actually the first recipe in the air fryer recipe book.
- 800 grams Potatoes
- 1 teaspoon Chili Powder
- 1/2 tablespoon Black Pepper
- 1/2 tablespoon curry powder
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Preheat airfryer to 180 degrees celsius for 3 minutes.
- Clean the potatoes by scrubbing them under running water.
- Cut potatoes into strips.
- Soak the potato strips in water for 30 minutes.
- Drain the potatoes and pat them dry using kitchen paper.
- Mix chili powder, black pepper, curry powder and olive oil in a mixing bowl.
- Add potato strips into the mixture and coat them evenly.
- Transfer fries into the fryer basket.
- Set the airfryer to 180 degrees celsius for 20 minutes.
- Shake the fryer basket every now and then.
- Serve the fries and sprinkle with salt.
- Enjoy your spicy country fries!

It feels good whenever we eat something fresh and natural. I’d cook more and more so expect more recipes on HeaRty’s Haven.

Wow! It makes me want to get one! Though I might substitute unsalted butter for olive oil because olive oil chemically changes when heated. Galing naman nito! I want!
