Recipe: Hard Boiled Egg
April 8, 2013

If ABC is for kids, then learning to cook an egg is for newbie cooks! I have to start somewhere and I know that egg is the basic ingredient in anyone’s kitchen. So here I am, learning to prepare one of the easiest ways to cook egg and that’s hard-boiled egg. Maybe, after I finish this, I can start to cook sunny side up egg π
I got inspiration on this recipe from WikiHow. I loved how detailed the steps were that I ended up cooking a decent, edible egg! Yipee!
- Eggs
- Water
- Salt
- Place the eggs gently in an empty pot. You have to be careful in placing them to prevent them from breaking.
- Fill the pot with cold (take note) water until it fully cover the eggs.
- Place a lil bit of salt into the water. This helps us peel the eggs easier afterwards.
- Cook the eggs in medium heat.
- Cover the pot.
- Slightly shake the eggs in the pot. It helps the yolks to be centered. (I do not know if this really works but I did it anyway and my egg yolks turned out to be in the center).
- As soon as the water boils, turn off the heat.
- Leave the eggs in the hot water for ten minutes.
- Whirl the egg on the table to check if the egg is already hard boiled. If it whirls fast, then itβs cooked.
- Chill the eggs by putting them on ice cold water.
- Roll egg on flat surface to crack the shell.
- Peel the eggs under running water. Make sure that you also remove the membrane so that it peels easily.
- enjoy the hard boiled eggs!
