Recipe: Pinoy Spaghetti

Pinoy Spaghetti Recipe

Spaghetti is one of my favorite Filipino food of all time!

I was able to eat a lot of homemade spaghetti when I was a kid.  I would be so excited whenever I saw our maid cook the famous pinoy version of spaghetti.  As I grew older, I would eat spaghetti whenever I’m in a party or whenever I order it in Filipino restaurants.  It had become a luxury food item.  If I don’t go out of my way to buy it, I won’t be able to eat it.

Since I’m now learning to cook seriously, I made sure that the Philippines’ version of spaghetti will be one of those.  The distinct characteristic of a Pinoy spaghetti is its sweetness.  Luckily, I got it right the first time!  So, here I am sharing the steps I took while cooking this sumptuous dish. The recipe from Serious Eats helped guide me through cooking Pinoy spaghetti (Filipino version of pasta).  However, I made several changes like not using oil and adding bell pepper.  The ground beef has its own oil that will come out when you cook it (I found out about this when my friend helped cooked the chili ground beef before).

I should let someone taste my pinoy spaghetti but I don’t think there’ll be enough as I’ve been eating what I cooked for the past two days.  Honestly, I’m very satisfied with what I cooked.  I actually felt it was delicious (hehe!)!!!!

Ahh yes, I’m getting more and more obsessed with Pinoy Style Spaghetti as well. xD I hate that I have yet to perfect my own recipe. But I discovered that Del Monte’s Sweet Style nails it down as close as possible. 😀

In other news, though, if I prefer the Italian taste, I would go for Clara Ole’s sauces. 😀 Clara Ole is made by SySu, which is a sister company of House of Praise. 😀 (They’re a Chinese fam.)
